Sausage Slapper and Chemical Castration Benefit Show Announced!

Many have talked a lot of smack when it comes to the Seattle music scene, but when it comes to the Punk and Metal portions of that scene they do not mess around. In time of need they work fast enough to make ones head spin. Despit this being a Christmas weekend (where no one answers phones), the bands who fell victim to a fire in the storage unit they practice in have already set up a benefit show. It times of crisis, these bands do not mess around.

As a follow up to our post HERE, we have found out that most of the bands came out ok. The band's Sausage Slapper and Chemical Castration in the storage fire. Metal Bands Lose Everything In Fire Christmas Eve

UPDATE: The short url to re-share is http://www.rockmymonkey.com/everettfire

On Christmas Eve,  several WA state bands lost everything when a fire broke out at the storage rental spaces they used for practice space. Gravenloch and JellyNeck are the only two bands we have been able to confirm at this time. There are already several campaigns to raise funds for these bands that have been dealt a low blow on what should be a very festive holiday. We at Rock My Monkey focus more on the national and international scene, but when something like this happens we believe everyone needs to rally behind those dealt a bad hand and encourage others to do so as well.

This isn't your scene? Well, these are the bands you need to network with when your band does feel the need to get in the van and tour. Wouldn't this be a great opportunity to introduce yourself as someone who is willing to step up and lend a hand in time of need? No one is asking for any thousand dollar donations or anything. Instead, I think it would be great if we could get a thousand people to donate just $5. So share this story on Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, and G+ if you will. Vote it up on Shreddit (they really need something more than just a stream of YouTube links) too. Give it a thumbs up on Stumble Upon as well. Let's get the word out on this!

Here are some links to places that are taking donations.
