Hey just wondering who has the DVD Boxset and do you think it's worth it? Like I got all the SFU CD's, Double Dead DVD, Maximum Video DVD and Live with Full Force DVD. So I pretty much have all SFU stuff except this.

I need to get this thing as well....I keep saying I'll get it when I go to the record store, but then I get sidetracked with 8 million other things. Hard to believe it's been THAT long that SFU have been around. Time flies....

Woah, shit, he put some Leviathan material on there? Hmm...I may get it, I dig the stuff from when Barnes sounded more like a teenager, it has that raw "in the beginning" vibe.

That's the thing, would it be sounding like Barnes in Cannibal Corpse? This isn't a rag but I personally don't like CC, when I first saw Haunted it had a sticker on it that said something like "from members of CC and Obituary", well I like Obituary so I thought I'd give it a shot.. and I'm gald I did coz obviously I like SFU.

So do you think I'd like this?

The old Cannibal Corpse is deffenetly cool but I dont care much for the new Cannibal Corpse.Well new or new, I dont care much for George Fisher as growler. Barnes cant be replaced by anybody.

A Decade In The Grave is a great Boxset. Cd's, musicvideo & live dvds. I for once am happy that I bought it :thumbsup :movie :headbanger :barnes

I would assume the Leviathan (I haven't actually heard it yet) material would sound like the Eaten Back To Life days of CC, which doesn't sound like any other era of CC at all. Musically (on EBTL), everything is simpler and the vocals sound much more "immature" (not in a bad way, moreso in an underdeveloped way) sound, as the guys were all in their late teens/early 20's at the time. I have a dvd live show from CC that was included in their boxset (their first show ever with Barnes), and everyone in the band is so young....it's almost funny watching all those mullets flyin' around onstage. Chris sounds very young....

So far as not liking CC (old or new): I love both era's.....although newer cc is just a TAD more devastating than older CC to these ears. But I can be just as happy listening to Gallery Of Suicide as I can Butchered At Birth. :monkeythumb

Nope

Not to me. I really liked it. It was fast and a little sloppy intrument wise. Was a nice touch . Plus for $55 you can't beat it with a stick.

55 bucks? holy fuck.....that's actually a lot for that little boxset. The CC box was only 40 bucks when we it first came out. At least that's what I found, I've seen it listed elsewhere for more....I bet you could find the SFU boxset for less than that with a little shopping around.

My CC boxset cost $60

Plus if your a diehard fan like me $85 is worth it.

Music is my fucking life.

Heh, I'm a diehard fan and all, but I also know when to say "Uh....no thanks." On the other hand, I've got a shitload of CC stuff....all the albums, box, vinyl, pic discs, shirts, stickers, coozie, etc. Another case: I ordered Morbid Angel's "Entangled In Chaos" through a record store here and they wanted 19 bucks for it. Once again, I passed. I'm second guessing that one, though...

You get some demo shit. You get CC eats moscow alive video. A cool little comic book and guitar pic. Just depends if you want to hear Mr. Barnes singing some shit unrealesed and what not. I enjoyed it more then I thought I would.

No poster? You serious? They are all supposed to come with the poster, but only 2,000 of them had signed posters. Mine has the whole bands autographs and is on the wall in my animal room. :metal :monkeyspank On top of that, I had the whole band sign my cd's and dvd on the inside....each member signed a different one. Jack Owen signed the box itself.....total ownage.

Dead serious no poster. I was kinda of bummed at first and thought oh well. Shit maybe I could contact metalblade? Not that big of a deal but I sure do like posters.

I want the CC boxset for Chris's Created to Kill demo, to me that time period is the peak of his vocals and the best growls ever in death metal. Also it has the best songs with George as singer which will save me from buying unneccesary later CC albums, and a DVD.
