from blabbermouth~~~
An excerpt from an exclusive interview with PRONG founder Tommy Victor, taken from the upcoming book "Prong: The Early Years" by Joel Gausten, is now available at this location.
Two years in the making, "Prong: The Early Years" features extensive, full-length interviews with Victor and former PRONG members Ted Parsons (GODFLESH, JESU), Mike Kirkland and Troy Gregory (FLOTSAM AND JETSAM, SWANS). Focusing on the band's first five years, the book also includes a full biography and previously unpublished photos culled from Kirkland and Gregory's personal archives.
Available May 1 from www.lulu.com, "Prong: The Early Years" will come in two cover editions. Mike Kirkland designed the first cover, limited to 100 copies. The second edition of the cover will include a collage of rare photos taken by Troy Gregory during the band's 1990 "Beg to Differ" tour.
Joel Gausten is the author of the book "Tales of Horror: The History of the Misfits and The Undead" as well as the upcoming book "Albums that (Should've) Changed the World", slated for a fall 2007 release

All over this for sure. The excerpts I've read have been really cool, especially the one he just posted with Tommy. Great insight.
I looked on the lulu.com website and I didn't see anywhere where I could order the book - anyone got a direct link?

Well, we have unitl about May 1st....maybe the link will be working by then? Maybe he needs to fix the link? Or when it comes right down to it I will just send him a message through MySpace to find out...

Me too! I've joined the club who ordered both copies - but then, isn't that the whole reason why people release two copies of the same thing anyway?!? Like the orange vinyl of Rude Awakening - I mean, who WANTS an orange 12"? Well, it's there, so I bought it!! ;) lol!

Same here... It was decent and cool, and I suppose a good introduction for some people, but I'd like something a little more in-depth to sink my teeth into.

I think it would've been better if Joel would have written it as a complete history of the band up until the present, rather than just an overview of "the early years". I would have been very interested to know more about the addition of Raven, the recording of Cleansing and the success that album brought them, then the subsequent recording of Rude, getting dropped from the label, breaking up, reforming with new members, etc. But that being said, I still liked the "mini-book" well enough and I'm glad Joel put it out. :thumbsup

Did anyone notice that "Prong the Original Band" myspace page has been deleted? Mike worked hard on that page and he doesn't know why either. Anyone have any ideas?

I have no idea, wouldn't he or MySpace be the only peeps with the ability to remove it?

My guess is because myspace.com is one of the shittiest, poorly constructed and maintained, unstable sites on the Interweb. :thumbsdown

It's myspace, not Tommy, not Prong Gremlins, it's myspace. Myspace has locked me out of the Force Fed site 3 times, and you have to go through bullshit to get it unlocked.
