I'd have to go with Live & Learn, though Rev It Up is a close second. If you haven't checked out Extended Versions, that one'll let you hear just how good they sound live.

I have to say Rev It Up is my favorite (it's so underrated) as a close second comes Live & Learn....And ofcourse i like the classic debut...

It amazes me how many people forget about Rev It Up. As much as I loved the first album, I always thought their sophomore effort was actually a stronger, more consistent album.
One of our local DJs hosts a four-hour '80s block every Thursday, with the last hour of his show devoted to hard rock and metal. Rev It Up is technically a '90s album, but he was so impressed with the concerts Vixen put on down in Walker last month that he happily went along with my request to make an exception to the all-80s rule and add Rev It Up to the playlist. It's great hearing those songs on the radio again.

Yep I know what you mean....There are great songs on Rev It Up...And most of the songs was penned by the girls.....This album got lost somewaht in the early 90's when the f**kin' grunge was comin'...And many critics didn't like it and worte some really awful reviews about the album....Remember they toured with Deep Purple here in Europe in 91....

Slightly off-topic, but I never got the whole grunge/'90s alternative thing. What is the point in making deliberately bad music? Was it just an ego trip, a bunch of people trying to tell us "what I'm saying is so profound, it doesn't matter that I have no musical ability"? Or was the whole thing a joke, like that Bulwer-Lytton contest where you try to write the worst possible opening for a book?
Anyway, were it not for grunge nearly destroying music for the better part of the decade, you have to wonder if we would have heard more from Vixen in the '90s.
Like you, rockersi, I skipped the first few minutes of Dokken's show last month to meet the girls and get autographs and a picture. I like Dokken, but I'd make that trade any time... especially since that's where I got my first copy of Live & Learn.

Haha ! Couldn't agree more ! I don't think today's music is much different either...especially in a world where ppl like to be told what to like :thumbsdown
Oh and... REV IT UP is definitely a classic !... Not to mention, better than a bunch of others that went platinum ! :P

Tone deaf singers and bland instrumentation... it's like the '90s all over again. That's what makes an album like Live & Learn such a godsend. It's great to be able to listen to a band with actual talent, especially one that knows how to rock.

Hello everybody!
I have only registerd to answer this question!
Like rockersi i first see vixen with deep purple in würzburg, germany. This was my first conzert and the first live group! I never forget this! In my hand i now hold the entrance card to the 'Slaves and Masters Tour '91' with Deep Purple and Vixen! On the card is nothing about Vixen. I was surprised from this group. After this conzert i bought the CD from Vixen. My favourite Song is 'Edge of a broken Heart' and 'Crying' - but all others are great. If you ever seen this group live at conzert you never forget!
To rockersi: Are you German? I was on Samstag 23. Februar 1991 : 20:00 Uhr in Würzburg Carl-Diem-Halle - DM 40,00 Kartenpreis.
Never forget !!!!!!
Thanks Vixen for my first orgasm.
Greets to all !
