I went and started a work-out program myself this week.

But unlike you, I'm trying to put on weight.

Wish me luck!

Mythos should be on that diet. He's a skinny guy. I work with a lady that is rail thin. I know she eats too. I have seen her eat. Skinny as hell.

I hate having an hyper-fast metabolism. My trainer told me to eat 6 full meals a day. I don't have time for that!

I know, I know...I have nothing to complain about...

BTW Mark, I want you to know that this thread is in no way making fun of you being on a diet. I totally support you and have been reading the other threads and stuff. My wife started dieting last year and I've seen her do very well. It can be done. :thumbsup

In fact, as of now she is dieting again and I am trying to gain weight. It makes shopping very difficult! :)

When you have as much trouble losing weight as I do, you have to have a sense of humor about it. ;)

I hate workouts. My muscles hurt. I think Satan created reverse crunches.

The first month I started with my workouts I needed a shitload of massage. My muscles were really fucked up for the whole month. I had to have two to three massages a week. Now they are fine though.

I don't really want to gain much.I'm about 165 or 170 right now. That's about perfect for me.I actually do watch what I eat..Sometimes I brag about pigging out when I haven't eaten in awhile but that's really not too often.I exercise regularly with my little dumb-bell set. When I started my new job about 2 months ago I lost about 10 lbs. in the first two weeks and it worried me a little, but 170 is the right weight for my height and bone mass.

I'm trying to gain about 25 lbs. My current job provides more than enough cardio, so all I'm doing is working with weights and excercise. I'm finding it hard to be able to eat as much as my coach is telling me to. Friday I made myself sick, because I ate so much. I think it was mostly because I ate almost all fiber and vegetables/fruits, and little protien. The frustrating part is due to genetics, I have to really watch my cholestoral (sp) intake also.

yeah Rivethead when I had a big weight bench/bench press set and worked out every night I found that protein shakes helped. They taste kinda nasty but they do help with weight gain.

yeah Rivethead when I had a big weight bench/bench press set and worked out every night I found that protein shakes helped. They taste kinda nasty but they do help with weight gain.

If you guys can find Muscle Milk up there....it's a great protein shake with an AWESOME taste. They sell it at virtually every Gold's Gym on the planet, so if anyone here has an account there, check it out. 350 cals, so it's a great extra meal for ya.

Also, for those interested in overcoming soreness and stiffness faster without massages, tylenol, or a case of beer: get some sort of glucosomine/glutamine pills. They help you recover faster (not like anabolic steroids fast, but much faster than normal) and if you like you can also find them in creatine-based powders.

Another great assistant to gaining mass for hardgainers is anything N-O based. I've used N.O.Explode with seriously great results, gains last longer, and since you're not actually retaining water constantly like you would with a creatine based drink: the pump lasts longer and is more solid.

Just a couple of tips if anyone is interested.

When you have as much trouble losing weight as I do, you have to have a sense of humor about it. ;)

Tell me about it....it seems like it takes forever to lose just 10 lbs for me as well. On top of that I lift a lot, so I tend to actually GAIN weight when my body fat % could be going down. It really makes me want to chuck the stupid scale out the window. You can do it though, just remember lean meats and tons of vegetables/water coupled with daily exercise will never fail you, so long as the exercise is long enough.

Oh, and stay away from taco bell.....that shit gets me every time. :D

My friend's weight-gain suggestion...

"Do what I do...eat a large pizza and a six pack of beer every night."
