I voted for Judas Priest. They can still release new music that is decent, don't piss on the American fans, and have the least amount of disappointing releases overall.

I got to go with Iron Maiden. Except for the albums they have released over the last few years. The dark times when Blaze Bayley was with them and when Bruce finally came back home. I love Maiden, but the new stuff isn't for me! :P
All of these bands kick ass, but I'll go with Iron Maiden.

I love Led Zeppelin. All these bands rules, but I love Led Zeppelin too much.

I chose Zep as well. They cover so many styles that no matter what your mood is, you can usually find a Zep tune that will go along with it.
priest is the only band out of the list that i truly love. i like maiden and sabbath alright, but priest fucking rules.

Tough pick between Priest, Maiden and Sabbath, but Priest has Halford and he is still the Metal God.

Ozzy is usually called the godfather (or father) of metal, but ROb Halford has always been called the Metal God due to the second song off of the British Steel cd.

Plus, and no disrespect to Ozzy and his influence on metal, Halford is a phenomenal singer, possibly the best the metal world has ever known, while Ozzy is pretty one-dimensional.

I voted Sabbath.

I voted Priest, because while Sabbath made it heavy, Priest made it metal. Furthermore, in my opinion, Halford was the best metal vocalist ever to exist. I can only think of one guy who's even close to just on par with Halford, but not too many people know about him.
I love Maiden, Zep, Sabbath and Alice Cooper, but Priest is definitely the best out of all the options there.

Who? I'm also of the opinion that Halford is probably the best metal singer ever, and if there's anyone who approaches his greatness I'd like to know.

That would be Brian Allen from Last Empire. If there's anyone who can inspire me enough to quit smoking, it'd be that guy. I was talking with him and the other guys in the band over a few beers about how there are opera singers who, like me, have asthma and smoke (not that I really can justify being a singer and smoking, cos though people tell me I'm great and I know I have quite a bit of skill, I could be a million times better if I quit), he said, and with no ego, 'Well, I don't smoke and I can carry on a note way longer than any of those motherfuckers.' I know that's true, too. This cat's pro. I don't know if he can hold out a note for five minutes straight like Halford, but he can come damn close (and has, too).

Ah ok, I'm familiar with Last Empire. Saw them a few years ago at the Northwest Metalfest, they played after my band. The singer was good, but he said from the stage that he was battling a cold so he wasn't at his best.
