I usually don't fall for that type of crap but this one has me wondering. Is it too good to be true?

Yeah, 99% of that stuff is total bullshit. Tons of scammers use these types of offers to get your info as well. Stay away!

Something you should know about MySpace spam. Just like with email spam, the person sending it may not be responsible. Just like a bot/virus/Trojan/worm can hack your email and send out spam using your account, they have bots that do this for MySpace accounts as well now. So you may just want to let them know that they need to change their password on their MySpace account.
A somewhat related reminder about passwords:
A good password is ten characters. Never use any word or name in any part of any password. Try to have at least two numbers in the middle.
A good way to do this is to use an acronym that you can remember really easy. For example: You can remember that "Rock My Monkey needs 52 thousand daily visitors now!" The password would then be "rmmn52tdvn". Now of course that password sucks since I just posted it, but you get the idea.

Oh yeah, I can give a 100% that this is due to someone taking over his account. :rotfl
yeah a friend of mine had that happen. His account was spamming everyone. I usually just click "reply" to the spam message and inform the account owner that their account is spamming.
