Rob Zombie is my favorite dude of all time pretty much. My prized possessions are my long sleeve White Zombie t-shirt and my Total Skull (Sheri Moon's clothing line) hoodie.
I saw the trailer for House wayyyy before the movie finally was released by Lion's Gate. I was excited for over a year to see it. Just netflixed it again, and can't believe I don't own it.
*semi spoiler* There is a scene where one of the parties of the movie is in an underground tunnel and she sees a person. To me the suspense of what this person is going to do is absolutely terrifying. I was scared again for the 5th time of seeing this film, even though I know exactly what is going to happen. Rob Zombie knows how to do true horror in my opinion.
I love the Devil's Rejects as well, and I do own this one... I love the follow up of the Firefly family characters, I love the revenge (I love revenge films anyway), I love the imagery, I love the ending.
It may just be because I was already a fan of Rob Zombie, but really I think with House of 1000 Corpses he just did a quality horror film that actually was a tad scary, or at least suspenseful if you empathize with the characters at all.
Opinions?
i went to this movie expecting greatness. what i got was a pile of boring. i guess i shouldnt have expected much, since rob zombie hasnt done anything worth a shit since la sexorcisto... and the beavis and butthead peyote trip scene in the b&b movie. i dont understand how this guy still sells records.

I suppose I agree with you in a way. I love the dude for some reason, but when I really think about it, I love who he USED to be, his artistry and imagery, more than his music for quite some time now.
I just realized watching House yesterday that I was actually getting scared which no other horror movie has done to me in a long long time... like since I was a kid. They've all been predictable and annoying.
I wouldn't say House is a cinematic legend, but more of a cult classic, and when I think about how I would feel being lowered into an underground tunnel in a coffin with a tape playing some weird zombie-type voice... I think I would probably have a fucking heart-attack. And when a stinking film can freak me out like that, then I appreciate it. It wasn't even the "gory" stuff, the blood, the stabbing or anything like that that got to me. It was the "mind" stuff.

I don't like his music, but that didn't have a bearing on checking out House of 1000 Corpses when it came out on HBO. Suffice it to say I did not like it, and thought it was an awfully made Texas Chainsaw ripoff. Someone told me that The Devil's Rejects is better but I haven't seen it yet.

I think house of a 1000 corpses only had a few good moments in it but other than that it sucked..the devils rejects was a lot better compared to his 1st movie..

I feel the same way I pretty much enjoyed the whole film the clown guy was a funny fucker. I need to see it again only watched it twice so far as for 1000 corpses didnt like it as much it was ok in a B horror movie way.
