They are coming to Seattle this summer for some sort of mini fest with Stray Cats, the Pretenders, and someone else. I believe the tix start at $50.
Anyone seen them recently live? Is it worth the $$$?

I haven't seen them live, but have seen a live broadcast. ZZTop is amazing and a lot of fun to watch, but I will not pay $50 to see hardly anyone. Heck, I doubt that I will even pay $30 anymore because there are so many amazing band playing for 10-15.
The last time I paid more than $30 was for Judas Priest w/Anthrax and I left highly disappointed. So, I won't do that again unless it happens to be one of my all time favorites.

They really sucked on the VH1 Rock Honors special. Stray Cats might be worth seeing a live show, but $50 is pretty damn steep.
zz top is always worth the money.

Good to see you like ZZ Top!
I might go see this because I like The Pretenders and the Stray Cats and I ABOSLUTELY LOVE ZZ Top, but still I don't think I have the money because I am going to have to travel to go see Velvet Revolver and Alice in Chains.
man... i'd definitely spend my money on the pretenders and zz top vs velvet revolver and the remnants of aic.

I would definitely go to Velvet Revolver and Alice in Chains instead. They have both got alot of members of some of my favorite bands (GN'R, STP, Alice in Chains)

The other band on the bill is REO Speedwagon.
I am going to the concert in Baltimore about a month from now. Its gonna be my little brothers first rock concert :D
And a note to Slasher - even without Layne, AIC puts on a great show. Saw them last October when they were headlining.
oh dang! reo speedwagon... that puts the show over the top... i might have to check this show out.

Hell yeah dude. We can go together and sing along...
"Heard it from a friend who
heard it from a friend who
heard it from another you been messin around."
Funny thing is you were being sarcastic, but I'm not so much... my mom listened to REO when I was a kid and I actually have pretty ok memories about that band, so I'd probably dig it. Now that I think of it, this line-up would be perfect for my mom. Maybe I'll go under the "pretense" of "I'm taking my mom" lol!

ZZ Top is worth seeing!
Billy Gibbons is one of America's greatest blues guitarists.
They are a band that sounds better live than on any of their albums.
You can't judge them from just seeing them on TV...:monkeyspank
Go see them...they won't be around much longer..:monkeybang
