I see nothing wrong with this at all. You are posting about healthy food choices in a food forum. I would say that is about as on topic as it gets. It's not like you are part of the diet industry or are trying to push some bullshit no-carb crap.
I do have some questions though. Me and the wife are doing our best to get rid of as much sugar as possible. So since it is raw, does that mean that it is 100% free of processed sugar? So that would mean we could eat it without "cheating", right?
So how would we get that in Olympia. :pinky
we use ABSOLUTELY NO processed sugar, the ingredients that are listed are what is in the food and that's it. processed sugar it isnt raw, and it gives my wife a wickid 2 day headache to have even a 1/2 teaspoon of the stuff. we use raw honey and dates for sweetener and they work wonderfully. if you want, you can buy some from us and i'll mail whatever you want to ya. i dont know if there are any raw restaurants or anything like that in oly, but i can find out tomorrow. we have been considering the idea of making desserts like these to send to people who want to eat raw foods that are not close enough to us. you wouldnt believe how many people are really getting into the raw food thing but have nowhere to go to eat it and know nobody who is into it.

How would you go about mailing food without it getting too messy or spoiled?
I would seriously look into the legal and health department rules on that. If you can get that all squared away it would be very profitable to get that website going. It wouldn't take much to get a computer set up in the store that would yell at you when an internet order came in too.

And actually those prices are reasonable for what they are. I mean a cake full of crap at the bakery I used to work at is like $30 something...
Considering all the work that goes into coming up with recipes to make something stick to standards such as raw and vegan, buy the ingredients, and prepare them... totally worth the prices I saw there. Especially when it comes to desserts.
(The place I worked isn't crap - their pastries are authentic danish and super bomb - I just meant full of sugar and whatnot)

Yeah, you might be able to buy some Sara Lee crap for less, but this is closer to "homemade". That hand crafted quality always costs more.
let's not forget that having one slice of the carrot cake is exactly the same as eating 3 organic raw carrots... because you are eating organic raw carrots :D... among other good things like cashews, rasins, coconut juice, orange juice, etc. its just good shit.
The cheesecake looks good but I don't do organic as the chances of getting Ecoli from organic foods is higher.:poop

Ecoli comes from animal shit. Since there is no animal products there is no chance at ecoli.
I'm talking about vegetable matter that is contaminated by the fertilizer. People get Ecoli from this more than non organic.

Oh come on now Vish. No insults. Just because you have different info does not mean you have wrong info. Honestly, I thought he had a good point. There has been several outbreaks of ecoli on produce as well as meat.
insults? i never insulted amon. i just said he was uneducated.
there is no greater risk in eating organic produce than there is in eating non-organic produce. you sure as hell have a greater risk of ingesting pesticides, waxes and toxic metals when eating non-organic foods. the nutritional contents of non-organic foods is almost non-existant. organic foods have 500% more nutrients than non-organic foods, they taste much better and are a hell of a lot better for the environment because the pesticides and fertilizers used to grow non-organic produce destroys the soil that the produce is grown in.
I was an insulting comment but I won't hold it against ya. I'm always reading articles or hearing on the news or radio that there is a greater chance of getting Ecoli from organic foods. That said you are correct about the pesticides and other harmful products.
Pros & Cons (http://www.rsc.org/Chemsoc/Chembytes/HotTopics/Organic/Index.asp)
It's a huge debate among many. Personally I prefer soilent green!:monkeybang

i guess, in the long run, you can only go by what you see. what i see, when i see people that eat organic foods, are people that are more healthy and have stronger immune systems. ecoli can be found EVERYWHERE, no matter whether it be on organic foods and non organic foods, but you can find it on your counter in the kitchen, your tv remote, your steering wheel in your car, your cd's... it is everywhere. people that suffer from an ecoli outbreak are usually the people with weak immune systems (very young and old people with the occasional person in the middle age group, chances are their diet is not the best to begin with).
since i have gone organic, i feel so much better, but that's me. it always just blows my mind when somebody would rather go the pesticide (made by oil companies) route to save a buck and destroy our environment as opposed to doing something natural and actually getting a good deal of nutrients out of the food they are eating... just because they are afraid of contracting a pathogen that they can get from putting their fingers in their mouths after touching almost anything.

Damn is that true. Ever see those studies where they compre the germs on a keyboard to those of a toilet? It will make you sick how much more sanitary the toilet is then the keyboard. Most keyboards are covered in fecal matter and everything else. Fucking nasty! :puke
