Haven't done one of these threads in a while. Who likes the New Wave of British Heavy Metal? It's where Saxon, Iron Maiden and Def Leppard came from, along with tons of other good bands.
I heard "Crazy Nights" by Tygers of Pan Tang this past weekend and totally loved it! John Sykes is a great guitarist, and the songs rocked hard. I've had "Spellbound" on vinyl for a while and dig it, but "Crazy Nights" was even better. Now I've got the urge to listen to Angelwitch, Savage and Blitzkrieg.

Motorhead is one of my top three bands of all time. :metal
The other night in a bar some dude picked all of the songs from Number of the Beast besides the obvious ones from the jukebox. While they were played, I found myself thinking, "why haven't I listened to 'Invaders,' 'Children of the Damned,' '22 Acacia Avenue' and the others in such a long time?"
After those songs concluded, Def Leppard's "Let It Go" took a turn and I recalled that many, many years ago DL was a kick-ass hard rock band.
With all of that said, I must say that I'm appreciating the NWOBHM more than I have in quite awhile these days, and it's great.

Always have been a fan of NWOBHM. Wish there was a digital radio station that played it like they do for hair metal.

No shit! Or even a station that played a mix of NWOBHM and glam. There is one called Inked that is pretty damn close that I found on my Dish TV, but I have no idea if it is available on the internet.
Here's a kick-ass live performance of "Let It Go" by Def Leppard in 1983.

Def Leppard could have been killer if they had stayed with this style.

Damn, that's the first song my band in high school played. I LOVE that album. Say what you will about Pete Willis, he played some raunchy guitar-- didn't care for anything they did after he got kicked out.

Def Leppard could have been killer if they had stayed with this style. Good stuff. I'm still a big fan of Leppard, but I can see why people became disgusted with them after Pyromania. Their early stuff is definitely great. You can tell they've got a different attitude back then.

I've got ALL of the old NWOBHM stuff,
SAMSON : "Head On" and "Shock Tactics" are a couple of classic must have albums/CD's that feature a young Bruce Dickinson..:maiden
Tygers Of Pan Tang : "Wild Cats" is my favorite album/CD. from them, though "Spellbound" and "Crazy Nights" are also cool.
