Do you think there are many security issues with it since it is a php board? just wondering..because you all said that THIS board was the best software to be had at the time. What are some of the things the administrators need to look out for using this board?

What do you mean by "a php board"? This board is run using the programing language called PHP. This entire website is done in PHP with rare exceptions. PHP is a great, powerful, and secure programing language.

Where things might get confusing is when people name their products after the programing language they are written in. For example, the last board software we used was an "open source" product called PHPbb. That was the name of the board. We left them because this software is better and has better support. For free, it was pretty damn good, but in the end you get what you pay for.

The Butthole Surfers board looks like it is done by some company called Simple Machines. I never heard of them, but the one thing I can say is to make sure and keep up on security updates. if the admin does that they should be fine.
