We still need new writers! Are none of you brave enough? Specifically right now we are very short of writers to cover the classic rock style. In other words the legends and new bands that sound like they are from the 60's and 70's. Maybe even a little bit of 80's style too.
If you are interested there is a little bit of an audition process.
Step 1: Pick two cd’s from your own collection. One should be a cd you love. The other should be a cd you hate. Rule added-Both cd's should have come out in the past year!
Step 2: Write a review for each one. Each review should be as close to 500 words as you can. No less then 400 and no more then 700 words. Cut that into three to four paragraphs.
Step 3: Make a post in the General Discussion section of the Rock My Monkey forums. The subject/title line should be able to show your imagination as a writer as well as let me know that it is your audition post. Post both reviews in one post. The regulars will then give their feedback and I will give mine.
Step 4: If you pass this test you are in and will be sent four promos with a set of directions on how to “officially” submit to this site. Every cd you review, you get to keep. The faster you are able to submit, the more free promos you will be able to get in your hot little hands.
Step 5: If you are able to dependably submit content, we can also start getting you into shows for free. All you need to do then is take some digital photos and send them to us at the end of the night. For the really brave we can set up backstage passes where you can interview your favorite bands too. You up for it? Go through the steps listed above and let’s get going. The stacks of promos are taking over my house!

:rotfl Yeah, that does sound funny now that you point it out. I should be more clear...new releases from classic rock era artists. Maybe this is why no one has tried to do this. :uhoh
