Rainbow

WHOA!!!!! Everyone forgot to tell me about this band. I have been checking them out though and they kick ass, but then again Dio with Blackmore.....thats a given. I have always loved Blackmore's guitar playing. I'm trying to find Rainbow - Rising because I hear its killer. :headbanger

Rainbow is my all time favorite band. Rising is the best of the Dio era records by far, and I don't think that it has a single weak track, but don't discount Long Live Rock and Roll either. There are some great tracks on there, too. After that, the band goes more for top 40 rock, and the albums get slicker and slicker. I don't care much for the Graham Bonnet album, Down to Earth, but I really like Joe Lynn Turner's vocals, so the rest of them are pretty good.

The early live albums are killer if you like arena based, jam style concerts. A 4-5 minute album song sometimes goes for 10-15 minutes live. Really alot of fun, especially the live in Munich one.

I haven't heard that much Rainbow, but what I've heard I like, especially the "Rising" album. "Stargazer" is an amazing track. I've heard a little of the post-Dio stuff but haven't heard the Bonnet album yet.
