I recently picked up a CD from 2004 called "Angel in My Dream" by Drawing Down the Moon, which apparently was a side project for Jan. There's a distinct country flavor, which really isn't my cup of tea, but several of the songs are actually really good--catchy, great vocals and instrumentation--and a couple even kick a little @$$, to the point I'll set them to repeat.

Anyway, since Jan's side project turned out to be a pleasant surprise, it got me wondering whether there were any other side projects out there--or if Lynn, Jenna or Kat had CDs out before they joined Vixen. Anyone know?

Thanks, Martin. You were right about Lynn's CD being available from CDbaby. I listened to some samples and liked it, so I ordered a copy.

Man, I SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO need to hit the Powerball so I can catch up on the over 1,000 CD's on my "to buy" list.

Make that 1,001, since I now know of one by my second favorite female bassist (Lynn).

...my second favorite female bassist (Lynn).

Which begs the question: Who's number one?

If you hit the Powerball, you'll want to snag a copy of Jan's Drawing Down the Moon disc, too.

That would be Mona Gnader of Sammy Hagar and the Wabos and formerly with Tommy and the Tutones.

The lady is a real sweetheart (not that Lynn isn't too). My fondest memory of 17 Hagar shows is singing "Wild Thing" to Mona backstage after a show in Indy several years ago and Mikey Anthony walking by and telling me to "Not quit my day job."

Trouble is, with my photo business starting to take off FINALLY and me working a paying journalism gig, there just ain't enough hours in the day to add a reviewing gig for just promo copies of the work.

As much as I'd LOVE to, mind you.

With my singing voice, I'd just be happy not to get Maced.

I saw Sammy Hagar a few years back and he sounded great and put on a terrific show.

My copy of Lynn's "Created" CD came in a couple weeks ago. Very, very different from Vixen, but quite interesting.

The paying gigs must come first and I totally understand that. I also posted that for anyone else that might be interested. :)
