So while you're playing you're instrument of choice who do you listen to?

One of my favorite bands to play along with is The Cows.
Thor Eisenstrager is one of my favorite guitarists to try and emulate.
He plays kind of a bluesy style punk rock type sound.Heavily distorted and fuzzy.I also like the tempo of most Cows songs for practicing.

One of the other bands fun for playing along with for me is Upsidedown Cross.They're quite a bit slower so allow for more experimentation.

What are some of the bands you guys like jammin' along with??

Glad you are enjoying it! It was just collecting dust on my shelf so at least it has a good home now :evil

the thing about the two bands I named is that their guitarists don't overpower the band so I can make up my own parts for their songs.It's like making up new songs with their bassist drummer and vocalist.

I only figure out a few selected guitar parts of other peoples music.
Mostly because I'm not really that good yet.

During the rare times I play anymore, I love playing old Metallica and Sepultura songs. I really enjoy playing cover songs, and I've got a bunch of Tab books.

Well yeah that's kind of obvious



I meant "what else is going on as you hear yourself play?" in simpler terms.
Do you somehow participate or interact musically with anything or anyone else as you do your thing?:shrug

Other times I listen to the drum machine and my buddy on bass as I play my guitar.

(stuff like that):drool
