I love the in-studio stuff, seeing the inside of Morrisound and all, so I loved the vid. It's a killer album the whole way through, too.
Mark - I tried to embed it originally and it didn't work. Thanks.

GODDAMN this band rules. I MUST see them live or all shall die. :pinky I love Monstrosity, even without Corpsegrinder or Jason Avery on vocals.
The dude from Vile SLAYS.
And I loved this video....I coulda just watched the drum tracking alone and been entertained just fine.

I hear you. Lee Harrison is an awesome drummer. Monstrosity hardly ever plays in the U.S., and I don't think they've ever done a large scale tour, so I probably won't be able to see them unless I leave Washington. However, I might be willing to travel for a show if they make it over to the west coast.

I finally got Spiritual Apocalypse and the mother fucker was better than expected. Then they toured with Vital Remains and I was lame enough to actually MISS it. Which is almost as retarded as me missing Nile earlier in the year....
I was toying around with Firestorm on guitar, and discovered that 3/4 of the song is relatively easy to play. :headbanger

That's one of Monstrosity's strengths I think, is that they don't need to play ultra-technical to write heavy, catchy, amazing songs, so they stick to what they do best. Good to hear you're digging the album. When I saw them in Seattle they played several songs from it live, only 1 guitarist so it was a little lacking for harmonies and during solos, but they put on an excellent show.

I think they have a great knack for throwing in technicality and groove together without sounding derived or unoriginal. The earlier material (Imperial Doom and whatnot) was fairly technical, but still with some nice chunky grooveage. Now...ridiculous technicality (like modern day Cannibal, Origin, or Beneath The Massacre, etc...) would make Monstrosity....not sound like Monstrosity, lol. I envy you seeing them, man, seriously....they are one of the few death metal bands that I have NOT seen, and want to catch at least once before they retire.
