I'd have to say "Peace," followed closely by "Never Say Never," though those two could switch places depending on my mood. "Barely Breathin'" and "Shut Up" are pretty decent, too--but I think I mostly like them because of the guitar work.

Yeah, the guitar work is really awesome, throughout the whole record. Gina Stile is an astounding guitar player, I didn’t know her back then, great surprise. And the songs are great too, esp. the lyrics. But what’s really beyond belief on that album is the way Janet Gardner sings. Her voice is sheer magic, and the way she sings is enchanting, captivating… it may have something to do with the lyrics being that personal, but she sings with her soul, pure emotions. She’s the best singer I ever heard.

Janet does have an amazing voice. There's a sort of rasp-y quality to it that really grabs me, though I think she was actually at her very best on "Love Is a Killer" from Rev It Up. That's the one where I always find myself focusing on her vocals.
That having been said, I love Jenna Sanz-Agero's voice with the current lineup. It's so strong and so clear and she harmonizes so beautifully on songs like "I Try" that I can listen to her sing all day. And she sounds really damned good on the classics, too.
But to get back to Tangerine... it was definitely an underrated album and one that came as a very pleasant surprise when I finally tracked down a copy.
