Thrash fans rejoice!!!! :headbanger

from Blabbermouth:

Legendary San Francisco Bay Area thrashers FORBIDDEN will reunite for several shows in 2008. Russ Anderson (vocals), Craig Locicero (guitar), Paul Bostaph (drums), Matt Camacho (bass) and Glen Alvelais (guitar) will bring something that so many of their peers, old-school fans and especially the younger generation of fans that never got to see FORBIDDEN live have been asking for: a true FORBIDDEN reunion!

"We want to show everyone what we used to do was as relevant and powerful as anybody else of that era," Locicero said in a statement released to BLABBERMOUTH.NET. "The gravity of our influence is really dawning on us now and we're very humbled. We owe it in turn back to those who supported our influenced us in the past. We'll be concentrating mostly on 'Forbidden Evil' [1988] and 'Twisted into Form' [1990] material to give the people what they want. The time is right and it's gonna be a lot of fun. 2008 will also be the 20th anniversary for the release 'Forbidden Evil'. It'll be VERY HEAVY and we're all excited to get started."

Added drummer Paul Bostaph (ex-SLAYER, TESTAMENT): "Though out the years I've been asked about FORBIDDEN by many people. Fans and friends alike have been wanting to see us play live again. I'm very happy to see this become a reality! I've been honored to play in some great bands. To play with Craig, Glenn, Matt and Russ (a truly great vocalist) again will be a longtime wish come true. I hope FORBIDDEN fans get a kick outta this as much as I will!"

FORBIDDEN is looking to book one Bay Area show for late January early February and look into some festivals in Europe, Japan and Australia starting in late May. These will all be exclusive gigs and there are no plans for a full-fledged tour, at least not in the immediate future. Locicero says, "We'll put our blood and guts into it and give it all we've got! Get ready to have your heads ripped off, motherfuckers!!!"

Any promoters and booking agents that need to get a hold of the band can reach out to them at www.myspace.com/forbidden__evil.

Fuck yeah! I have only heard a few songs by Forbidden, but what I've heard is fucking amazing and is a perfect of example of why thrash is my favorite style of music. I really hope that they'll play in Portland or Eugene!

Damn, I thought more people here were fans of Forbidden besides Brad and I.

Anyway, for those of you who may not be familiar with Forbidden, check the kick-ass song known as "Through Eyes of Glass":

And yes, Mark, I didn't embed this video because I don't understand how the following is done: "You can embed videos by sticking everything after the equals sign into square brackets that say youtube inside them."

Maybe I'm incomprehensibly stupid, but I just spent the past few minutes trying every imaginable combination of brackets (these things, [ ], right?) and the word "youtube" within them after the = sign, and nothing I tried worked.

Perhaps I can learn how to do this is if you show me a diagram. ;)

What you have to do is put youtube inside brackets, then put in the 3aWtBIBjTj4, which is everything after the = in the URL, then put /youtube inside brackets after it.

For those who haven't already heard, Forbidden will be performing 2/29/08 at Slim's in San Fransisco with Death Angel! Forbidden's lineup will be the same as on the classic "Forbidden Evil" album with the exception of a special guest drummer by the name of Gene Hoglan.

Tickets went on sale this past Saturday, $21 thru the Slim's site here (http://www.slimstickets.com/evinfo.php?eventid=21691&sid=). My guitarist and I have already gotten tickets and will be heading down for this show. Anyone else going?

I gotta work that night. Since this is a road trip thing, I asume this would mean taking two days off for one show and I just can't do that. Plus the whole being poor thing.

Damn. Well, I'll take lots of pictures and get autographs so you can experience it vicariously. :D

We'll cross that bridge when we get there. With my luck I won't be able to get close enough to the front to get any good shots. But rest assured, if I get some then I'll share. :monkey

Would a photo pass help? I can get you one, but only if the photos are 100%. Press agents get pissy if you don't give them photos for a photo pass. :D

How do you mean 100%? I have a simple 3.1mp camera so it's not gonna do anything spectacular, dunno if that's good enough to warrant a pass, but if it is I would be very grateful. If you can get me an interview with Craig Locicero and/or Russ Anderson I'll buy a recorder to take with me. :thumbs

As in 100% going to happen. They don't have to be too amazing. Just as long as they are REALLY close up.

If I got you a pass, it would be for DA. That is who I have a contact for.

Looks like I can get ahold of a better camera, 7.1mp, so I'm taking pictures. If you can get a pass you would be my new favorite person.
