I'm gonna move from hobby, to starting to make money from my hobby. I have a couple shows coming up I need to record and I need to upgrade my recording device. Currently use an old Roland 6 channel recorder. I've narrowed the recorder down to two. I need at be able to record at least 7 simultaneous tracks.

Here are my choices:

Anyone have any pros/cons for either or better option for around the same price? These will be live shows with our own mics, board, gear, etc, so we're not going through the house at all, so we'll have 100% control over the input. And the audio needs to be at least 24 bit 48000 since it will be for DVD audio. They will also be used in their off time as recording studio recorders, and when I'm not using them I'll probably rent them out to local musicians.

I've got this (http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Behringer-ADA8000-Ultragain-Pro8-ADA-Converter?sku=182483) for extra mic inputs in my Pro Tools rig, and it works quite well, provided though you've got the right input and the recording software already. That second one you listed, the PreSonus one, looks quite decent and comes with Cubase so you're pretty much set.
