I loved Manowar when they first came out..
"Battle Hymns" sounded so much different than anything else back at that time, and has still held up pretty well...:metal
I agree a lot of their music seems cheesy in 2007, but I still enjoy any of the early stuff with Ross The Boss (guitarist) on it.
I got to see them live a couple of times and they were great!
Manowar are so loud and clear sounding live, that bass feels like someone is slapping you in the chest.
You have to love some of their lyrics to their songs..
"We like it hard, we like it fast
We got the biggest amps, man they blast
True metal people wanna rock not pose
Wearin' jeans and leather, not cracker jack clothes"
And the band is wearing leather loin cloth's while performing these songs...:rotfl
