I thought Machine Head's cover of Battery off that album was fucking killer! It definitely overshadowed everything else on that album.

I hope Trivium can make things a little more "reckless" sounding next time and not like classic Metallica watered down for the masses. Just something to give it that little extra kick. Maybe have Eric Rutan produce it or something.

I agree. This is way too produced. Metallica's version is much rawer and crazy. I like that term "reckless" for it. The orginal sounds like its coming out of the speakers and hitting you. The orginal Master of Puppets is such an incredible song it deserves all the credit it gets.

If you want it dirtied down (in a good way), Rutan is DEFINITELY the way to go.

They sound more like Metallica than Metallica do now.

Yep, Rutan is beoming one of my favorite producers.

That is why I not only root for them, but also am so critical of them. They have an amazing amount of potential but seem more interested in making it pretty so the Hot Topics kids buy it up. They need to "dirty it up" as Joey said.

I think there last release really moves away from the Hot Topic kids because it is ALOT more thrashy. I think now they are going to try to hard to be the next Metallica. Which I'm not against or anything, but they should just try and be themselves. (They do have tons of potential and are very young.)
