Ok, now sometimes I can't tell if I am just too easily irritated by what I consider stupid things or if something is ACTUALLY stupid. Does anyone else view this movie as almost.....well....insulting? Has anyone seen the previews for this thing? It's got the maroon that played in Taladega Nights with Will Ferell, and is basically a parody of the Johnny Cash movie, Walk The Line. At any rate, if this is what "comedy" has come to......I guess I don't have a sense of humor.
I don't plan on watching it until it's out for rental. I expect it'll be as stupid as a Will Ferral movie without the irritation of Will Ferrel himself.

As a Cash fan, I am shocked you would even watch it on DVD. Joey asks if this movie is insulting...no. It's no that good. It's FUCKING SACRILEGE! The fact that this movie exists pisses me off to no end. I am sure they tried to get Will Ferrel to be in it, but maybe even Will "I ruin comedy" Ferrel knew better then to be connected to this tripe.
FTR-This is the worst movie to come out in a very long time. I feel like I can relate to the religious wackos who try and boycott movies now. And that pisses me off even more. :pissed :pist

When I saw the trailer for this movie back in September I thought the same thing you did: It's fucking sacrilege!

I KNEW it wasn't just me. Fuck this movie......boycotts across the nation!!!! Even my wife thought this piece of trash was an insult to the memory of Johnny Cash.

Yeah, I definitely agree. I think this movie will be way more stupid than it is funny. However, I can see that there will be some funny one-liners. I think it's mostly just a matter of certain people who have too much money and too much time on their hands and thought it would be "funny" to make fun of whatever, and then actually had the resources and connections to do it.
We watched BaseKetBall last night, and it's kinda the same thing. Funny guys with too much time on their hands and the freedom and money to put any of their retarded ideas on film. (Now, Trey and Matt are genius in my eyes, and considering their other work, I don't even get why BaseKetBall was even made, it's nowhere near as funny as everything else they've done)...

im very optimistic for this movie. Walk The Line sucked ass and should be parodied. i love johnny cash, btw. the fact that it is starring the guy from talladega nights is enough of a draw for me to want to see it. i only wish that will ferrell were a big part of the movie as well, cuz i LOVE will ferrell and everything he does. no, im not being facetious either.

I liked Walk the Line, and I like Cash, but I have always felt that when it comes to parody, there is nothing sacred. Am I gonna go see this movie? Probably not but I wouldn't mind seeing it someday.

Yeah, I am with you on the nothing sacred thing when it comes to parody, this just looks like a second rate Will Ferell movie...and that is like saying second rate garbage. If it was done right and actually funny I don't think I would have a problem with it. It just looks like the worst of the worst.
That is what makes it absolute sacrilege to me I guess. If you are going to do a parody of a legend like Cash, you better make sure it is well done.
FTR-I totally loved Walk The Line.

i didnt like the ray charles movie either. the greatest life story movie is Cobb starring Tommy Lee Jones. i like biographical movies, but walk the line sucked anus.
