Yeah, but that was before someone here actually saw it and could honestly say that it is as excellent as it is. :P

Also, it is far more than just a "slasher flick" so I firmly believe that you'll like the movie a lot considering that you're a fan of Depp and Burton.

Sweeney Todd is very different from the average musical, which is a good thing since I usually despise musicals as well.

Yeah, I definitely need to check this one out. I love all the Burton/Depp combinations so far. Did you guys hear that Burton is remaking Alice in Wonderland?! Now THAT is going to be the shizzzz!

Also, read the Golden Compass part where you guys were talking about this, and... am I the only one who noticed that Corpse Bride, Chocolate Factory, and Nightmare Before Christmas were also musicals?

Ok, now that creeps me out. Those two doing a movie that so clearly is about drugs? Yikes! It could suck like their version of Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, but I hope it doesn't.

I don't know for sure if Depp is going to be a part of it, but considering the recent past, I wont be surprised if he fuckin plays Alice lol!

Saw it today. It's pretty cool but I doubt I'll watch it again. Musicals just aren't for me.

Normally I despise musicals, but with a story like this it's worth watching. Not to mention the final shot is just about the most macabre thing I've ever seen.

Indeed, and Sweeney Todd just may be one of the darkest movies ever made that doesn't fall into the horror or thriller genres.
