I'd like to see Megadeth, but that lineup isn't very impressive to me.

Yeah, if I can't get photo passes I'm going o skip this one too. I already saw Megadeth at the Moore and I doubt that I will ever be able to see them is such a small venue again with such a great line up.

I'm just curious but did you ever see Megadeth in the 80's?

Megadeth in the clubs is definitely something I will not soon forget.
On another Deth note - As much as I like Chris Broderick, I'm kinda pissed that Glen Drover left the band.

I'm indifferent about Glen Drover, but I don't think that Broderick is the best guy for the gig. He's a phenomenal guitarist, but Megadeth doesn't seem like the best forum for his talent. He was much better off in Jag Panzer IMO, but Megadeth does give him a far higher profile which will be better for him in the future.

Nope. First time I saw them was on the CTE tour in the very early 90's.
I'm going to show in Salem on May 17, and I really hope that Megadeth will play more older material this time.

I don't know who Chris Broderick is, and it's obvious that he's a great guitarist since Dave Mustaine invited him into Megadeth, but I really wish that Dave would bring Chris Poland back one of these days since he's the best guitarist who has ever played for Megadeth.

The CTE tour. Was this the first one in which they stopped playing songs from Killing is My Business?

Not sure. This was a very long time ago.

When did this happen?
About a week ago now. Chris Broderick was a member of Jag Panzer and played a lot of shows with Nevermore although I don't think he was a full member of the group.
Here is a vid of Broderick and Jeff Loomis doing a guitar duel during a Nevermore show that I was at.

I have to agree on this. But it's probably the best move dave could have made. Chris is easily the best guitarist Dave's had in there since Marty. I loved seeing him with Nevermore and wish he would have become a full member. I was a fan of Jag Panzer too.
Apparently this is Megadeth's set list for the upcoming Gigantour with In Flames and Children of Bodom:
"Sleepwalker"
"Take No Prisoners"
"Wake Up Dead"
"Skin 'O My Teeth"
"Washington Is Next"
"Kick The Chair"
"Darkest Hour"
"Hangar 18"
"Gears Of War"
"À Tout Le Monde (Set Me Free)"
"Tornado Of Souls"
"Ashes In Your Mouth"
"Never Walk Alone... A Call To Arms"
"Symphony Of Destruction"
"Trust"
"Peace Sells"
"Burnt Ice"
"Holy Wars"
"Mechanix"
"She-Wolf"
"Blackmail The Universe"
"Set The World Afire"
"Devil's Island"
"Reckoning Day"
First, it will be pretty cool if they actually play 24 songs since 18 definitely was not enough the last time. It will also fucking rule if they actually play "Set the World Afire," "Mechanix" and especially "Devil's Island." However, it's total bullshit that they haven't touched any song from Killing Is My Business in the past 15 years or so other than "Mechanix." It's also pretty damn ridiculous that they don't play more from Peace Sells and So Far, So Good, So What! It would be fucking great if they didn't always play the same shit from Rust in Peace, Countdown and Youthanasia. Above all else I don't understand why they insist on playing that piece of shit "Never Walk Alone." Now I know I've said all of this before, and that this isn't a bad set list, but shouldn't any given band and its fans get a little bored after hearding the same songs 50 million times?

This is a cool set list. They finally play my favorite song "Set the World Afire". I am surprised that they don't play "Train of Consquences" because I think that it is easily the best song off Youthansia. Since I have never seen Megadeth I would REALLY like to see "Sweating Bullets" I don't care how many times they play it, that song kicks fucking ass.

If any song needs to be dropped from that list it is Reckoning Day

Considering it's last on the list it's not the strongest song to be finishing with, but I think it's really good. I'd much rather hear that than anything from The World Needs A Hero, Risk or The System Has Failed.

Yes, "Reckoning Day" does need to be dropped. When it comes to Risk and The World Needs a Hero, Megadeth thankfully has not played any songs from them live during the past few tours, and probably never will again. As for The System Has Failed, it's a damn good album, "Blackmail the Universe" and "Kick the Chair" are killer songs and they haven't been taking up space for ten to twenty years so I don't see what the problem is there.

I dunno... Reckoning Day has always bored me. Horrible idea to close the show with that number imo

When they first toured behind TSHF (with Exodus) they played Back In The Day which was really cool. They got Exodus on stage to sing the "Oh oh whoa oh's" and it was really fun to see Glen Drover and Gary Holt tagteam Glen's guitar (Glen doing the fingerings while Gary stood next to him and played the strings) :monkey

I'm going to go out on a limb here, but I guess that I am probably the only person on this board that likes "Of Mice and Men", am I right? And truth be told, "Never Walk Alone" has grown on me after I first thought it was horrible on my first listen.
See, I kinda like metal bands writing songs that actually get radio airplay. Just a strange quirk that I have...

I missed the Portland show of that tour because I was stuck in the Army for another three weeks, and I can't count how many times I've heard that something or other that was totally badass happened while it was going on. Today it's the Glen Drover/Gary Holt tag-team guitar thing, and a few weeks ago a friend of mine told me that they played "My Last Words." That made me want to kill somebody. :pinky

I'm sorry, but to me "Of Mice and Men" is the only shitty song on the otherwise great The System Has Failed, and "Never Walk Alone" is the only song that sucks on the killer album United Abominations.

That makes two of us who like Of Mice and Men. Never Walk Alone is ok - I don't really dislike it but I don't think its all that great.
