After being re-hired by my old boss about a year ago I've been slaving my ass off at some crappy restaurant cleaning up after they close. In less than a year I get a raise...then I get a new building added on,A nice bunch of lawyer offices,..then later a club at a golf course and now finally I'll be dropping a few days at the restaurant (I hate working around food service areas) and getting a bank to clean.Luck smiles upon the Mythos.

I get to clean up after a bunch of little munchkins at an elementary school. Not as bad as a restaurant though. I used to do that and it sucked. Congrats on leaving that behind. :cheers

Shit! things just keep getting even better. He offered me a building right next to the bank now. It's four floors I think.I've only been up in it once, but it'll save me alot of gas being right next door.As it is now gas is costing me a small fortune.I helped him out there the other night and he's going to give me another raise.I must be doing something right. How long have you been a janitor Mark? I had 5 years previous experience before I got this job.Do you strip and wax floors at the school? He might be training me on that next spring/summer.

I started out as a janitor at a Mervyn's department store in the very early 90's. Then I worked at a company that cleaned the local Sears for a couple years. Then I worked for the mall both those stores were part of for a few years. Then I was head of janitorial for a King's Table restaurant for a few years. Then about 12 years ago I got a job working for another school dist for two years. They pissed me off, so I went to work for the Olympia School dist when they offered me pretty much double of everything. That was 9 1/2 years ago. Now I have enough seniority to get a head custodian position. That can be a pretty sweet position, but I am really trying to get a job doing something with computers instead. If something doesn't work out with this site in a few years I may just go for switching departments with the same school dist. So in all I have done either custodial or janitorial for almost two decades...damn depressing to be honest. :cry

I get some awesome benefits and about $15 an hour. The benefits are what really keep me there though. Full medical, dental, vision, retirement, and a ton of other stuff that comes with being a member of the Teamsters.

Yup, I am a card carrying member of the Teamsters Union. :pinky

Oh lighten up, dude. :flash No, there's no way I'd violate the first commandment of the board and dare to be politically incorrect or offensive. :flirt
