I find this to be extremely interesting. Notice how they didn't need near the violence to make the original such a classic? Why do they need that now to make the same impact? The first movie is still a total classic, is it not? I am also pretty sure that this latest one will never be considered a classic. This chart speaks volumes.

Indeed. If this movie makes any list, I hope it will top the "Most Pointless Movies Ever Made" list, and will be closely followed by Rocky Balboa.

I thought this move is an excellent closing to the Rambo series. The violence was definitely up there. The violence wasn't just in how much blood and gore can I throw your way....but more so in the actions behind the blood and gore, causing it. In the 80's it was all about how much blood and gore can we throw at people for shock value alone...which is where the Rambo movies come in...but in this movie, the realities of war were in the violence....giving this movie a depth that none of the other Rambo's since the first one.
Out of five head banging monkeys....I'd give it a four.....and the only reason I skip out on the fifth is because of the ending.....it made a lot of sense how the movie ended....but I wish it could have been tied in and/or elaborated a bit more.

I honestly have not seen it, so you would know more than I would. I just found that from looking on that chart it seems that the movie moakers used to be able to tell this kind of story and give the same kind of impact without the extremely high body count.
I am sure I will still see it as me and the wife are addict of good cheese like this. I just found this chart to be extremely intriguing.
i like lots of violence in war movies. i just dont like lots of violence in horror movies. i really wanna see this.

To me, it was well worth the $ to see it in the theater. I did hear, tho, that there was a lot of dialogue from Sylvester cut out of the movie and I gotta tell, I'm glad for that. Speaking was never a Rambo thing....it was all about the action....I thought the message behind the violence spoke a lot louder than any dialogue could have.
I look forward to buying this one when it comes out. I, personally, dug the first on the best and between all of them, would have a hard time choosing between the 1rst one and this one as being the all time best.

I enjoyed it for what it was, and it is a nice end to the Rambo series. I was surprised though at how graphically violent it was, not that I'm complaining, I just wasn't expecting it. Really loud too. It'll never be the classic that First Blood is, and doesn't have the story that it did, but it does just fine and action junkies ought to enjoy it.
A friend took me to go watch this yesterday. It wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be but it was certainly lacking. It was pretty much just like the movie "Missing in Action" except it had mass amounts of graphic violence which is the only thing that made it watchable.
