Has no one else watched Cloverfield yet? I loved it and highly recommend it, as long as you aren't susceptible to motion sickness.

I'm sorry, but this movie looks to be absolutely terrible.

Yes, in that respect the previews look a bit too much like Blair Witch where you can't even see what's going on half the time. That'd drive me nuts.

i think it looks pretty badass. one of my close friends says it's the best movie he's seen in 10 years.

Yeah, the previews haven't done anything to get me interested in this thing.

Wow, I'm surprised. I thought more people here would have been interested in seeing it.

Lots of things surprise me with this place. Before I started posting here, I had no clue that there was such a thing as a person that didn't like Will Ferrell movies, let alone DESPISE everything that he does. Everybody I know LOVES his movies. Go figure :shrug

I saw it a couple weeks ago. I like it in the sense that they adhered to the old school Japanese films by not trying to explain the monster or give it a personality unlike the abortion that is the American version of Godzilla.

I went in not expecting much and was actually impressed. They did it well. I figured the camcorder vision (ei Blair witch) would have destroyed this movie but it gave it the suspenseful element that it needed. Like the rest of you, I hated the shaky, running with the camera, vision but other than that it was good. I doubt I would have gone to the theater to have watched this if my wife hadn't wanted to go so badly. :p

PS the monster looked pretty fucking cool! I was woried that it'd look like some Godzilla kock off.

I dug that aspect too, that it didn't need to be explained. It just was. I think if it was done typical Hollywood style it would have sucked, but with that first-person aspect throughout it worked.
