First concert?: Warped Tour 98... I went to see NOFX, Rancid, Bad Religion, Strung Out and Deftones.

Last concert?: Amon Amarth with Himsa

How many concerts have you been to?: I dunno

Best band to see live?: Pantera was the greatest. Amon Amarth is now.

Worst band to see live?: Trivium. Lord they blow. 3 Inches of Blood are pretty gay too.

Life-changing concert?: Pantera 2002. Just an utterly mindblowing experience.

Best friend to go to a concert with?: Captain Stu. He's my right hand man at concerts.

Worst Friend to go to a concert with?: Uh... I've never had a bad experience going to a concert with anybody.

Best thing to bring to a concert?: Comfortable shoes.

Worst thing to bring to a concert?: Bad energy.

Best season to go to concerts?: The season when the good shows come.

Best concert memory?: There are a few that are pretty badass.

Funnest thing ever done at a concert?: I saw Pantera. My most favorite band. I'll never be able to see them again, nor will anybody else. I'm glad I got to see them.

Worst thing ever done at a concert?: The only Ozzfest that I went to was lame because I got severe heat exhaustion and couldn't even get into Down's first appearance in Washington. I was too busy puking from the heat.

Longest concert ever attended?: Said Ozzfest.

Upcoming concerts wishing to attend?: I'd like to see Meshuggah when they come to town with Ministry in the near future.

Age people should start going to concerts?: As soon as they are passionate about the music. <--- what red said.

Age people should stop going to concerts?: When they don't want to go anymore.

Stupidest thing to get at a concert?: I always say getting in the pit. I just don't think they are fun.

Coolest thing to get at a concert?: I like to get to see the band.

Most annoying thing at a concert?: Douchebag security guys, overpriced water and booze and kung fu dancers.

Outdoor concerts or indoor concerts? Indoor... especially now that there is a smoking ban.

Clubs or larger venues?: I like clubs more

Favorite venue?: The Paramount is pretty cool.

Least favorite venue?: El Corazon... though all of the bands that I like end up playing there.

Name three bands that you would love to see tour together:: Amon Amarth, Meshuggah and Cannibal Corpse. In that order.

One band that you would love to see reunite for a tour:: Earth Crisis

Do you prefer seats or the pit?: Seats or away from the pit. I just don't understand the whole pit thing.

Do you usually buy food/drinks at a concert?: No

Hardest concert you've had to get tickets for? Never really had a hard time getting tickets

Best music to see live?: Death Metal

Nudity at a concert: yes or no?: I whip The Vish peen out and slap people in the face with it regularly.

Drinking at a concert: yes or no?: Not usually... I tend to be the one who has to drive.

Best way to end a concert:: Satisfied.

Concert Survey

First concert?: Foghat, with Cheap Trick opening. Rainbow was supposed to be there, but that was when Dio quit. Was June '78.

Last concert?: Hottest Chicks in Metal Tour last fall. In This Moment ruled!

How many concerts have you been to?: Over 100 different national acts, if you count local shows and bands seen more than once, well over 400 and probably closer to 500 now.

Best band to see live?: The first time I saw Into Eternity, they blew me away. Origin did as well. Rush in '82 was spectacular as well.

Worst band to see live?: I agree with Vish...Three Inches of Blood blew. I also thought Lacuna Coil was a huge disappointment.

Life-changing concert?: Can't really say that there has been one, though Origin came close, as well as a bagpipe band called the 78th Highland Fraisers, believe it or not.

Best friend to go to a concert with?: My son, Iain, of course.

Worst Friend to go to a concert with?: Can't say that I have had that experience.

Best thing to bring to a concert?: Again, I agree with Vish, comfortable shoes.

Worst thing to bring to a concert?: A crappy camera.

Best season to go to concerts?: Spring or fall, so that the venues aren't too hot or cold.

Best concert memory?: Meeting Devin Townsend and Gene Hoglan of Strapping, and hanging out two nights in a row with all the guys in Into Eternity. Oh, talking with Geddy Lee and him inviting me to try out his brand new Stienberger bass has to be right up there too....lol.

Funnest thing ever done at a concert?: Me and another big guy stopped a mosh pit dead in its tracks when it ran into us, kinda like a wave breaker, at a Devil Driver show.

Worst thing ever done at a concert?: The worst thing, if you could call it that, would be walking out in the middle of a lame show.

Longest concert ever attended?: Went to a Cornerstone Festival once, otherwise about 10 hours.

Upcoming concerts wishing to attend?: Me and the wife are going to see REO Speedwagon, Styx, and Def Leppard.

Age people should start going to concerts?: Let's see, I took Iain to see Tool and Messugah at age 11, and the entire family to see The Doobie Brothers when my girls were 2, 8, and 11.

Age people should stop going to concerts?: Give me a break.

Stupidest thing to get at a concert?: Drunk

Coolest thing to get at a concert?: A chance to talk to the band.

Most annoying thing at a concert?: Lack of seating for old farts like me.

Outdoor concerts or indoor concerts? Indoor. Sound is usually better, and I really hate bugs.

Clubs or larger venues?: Clubs.

Favorite venue?: I loved a club in GR called Ten Bells, but its closed now. So I guess it is either RedRum or The Intersection.

Least favorite venue?: Skelletones in GR

Hardest concert you've had to get tickets for? Asia....got backstage passes, but to get to the show we had to rent a car, drive 2 hours, and go through all sorts of crap....for a free show and a t-shirt.

Best music to see live?: Anything that has a visual aspect to it. Otherwise you might as well listen to the CD.

Nudity at a concert: yes or no?: I don't really care one way or another.

Drinking at a concert: yes or no?: Not a chance.

Best way to end a concert:: Wanting at least one more song. Nothing worse than wishing the band would just get it over with already.

Last concert?: Nightwish, November '07.


How many concerts have you been to?: Who knows?


Best band to see live?: Megadeth, Pantera and Nightwish come to mind at the moment.


Worst band to see live?: Paradise Lost by far!


Life-changing concert?: I haven't been to one yet since I got into metal about ten years before I went to a concert, so I know what to expect when I go to one.


Best friend to go to a concert with?: Chris, I suppose, since we've gone to two Megadeth shows in the past two years, and we're going to another one in May.


Worst Friend to go to a concert with?: I've never thought "why the fuck did I go here with this person?" while I've been at one.


Best season to go to concerts?: Does the season really matter when it comes to concerts?


Best concert memory?: I don't know about the best, but when Megadeth dusted off "Set the World Afire" in '05 is definitely up there.


Funnest thing ever done at a concert?: Isn't this a bit redundant considering the previous question? With that, I'll change it to the funniest thing I've seen at a concert, and say when some dumbass stagedived during one of Exodus' opener's sets in May '06, and expected one of the handful of people in the audience to catch him.


Longest concert ever attended?: Gigantour, September '05.


Upcoming concerts wishing to attend?: Megadeth/In Flames/Children of Bodom, Ministry, Machine Head. Hopefully Iced Earth, Lamb of God and Trivium will get here soon as well.


Age people should start going to concerts?: As soon as they are passionate about the music. Sounds good to me.


Age people should stop going to concerts?: This is a bullshit question.


Stupidest thing to get at a concert?: A shirt that costs as least $20 more than it should.


Coolest thing to get at a concert?: A great show.


Most annoying thing at a concert?: Dudes that basically feel eachother up as they push eachother around while others actually try to watch and listen to the band.


Outdoor concerts or indoor concerts? Indoor since weather isn't a concern, and lighting variations can actually add to an indoor show.


Clubs or larger venues?: Clubs.


Favorite venue?: I don't know if I have one.

Least favorite venue?: I used to love the Roseland Theater, but during the past three years I've seen Black Label Society, Arch Enemy, Megadeth and Nightwish play much shorter sets than they should have. I recently found out that that was the result of an 11:00 curfew. What the fuck?


Name three bands that you would love to see tour together: Painmuseum, Machine Head, Megadeth.


One band that you would love to see reunite for a tour: Drain STH.


Do you prefer seats or the pit?: I like to be as close to the stage as possible without being in the pit.


Do you usually buy food/drinks at a concert?: No


Hardest concert you've had to get tickets for? Killswitch Engage/DragonForce, March '07.

Best music to see live?: Any kind of metal that is performed well.

Nudity at a concert: yes or no?: The only time I wanted to see that was at the Killswitch Engage/DragonForce show since about half of the audience consisted of hot girls, but none of them took anything off.

Drinking at a concert: yes or no?: I don't usually drink at concerts.

Best way to end a concert: Knowing that the band played a killer set that wasn't shortened because of some bullshit.

How many concerts have you been to?: oh shit....over 40, definitely.

Best band to see live?: Slipknot to be honest. Fuck the haters.

Worst band to see live?: hmmm...either Incantation (boring), Linkin Park (whiny asses), or the last Pantera show I saw. Oh, and seeing Deicide was meh both times: short sets, band looked bored, Santolla acted like a queer.

Life-changing concert?: Either Slayer, Machinehead, Biohazard or Cannibal Corpse, Exhumed, Vile, and Hypocrisy.

Best friend to go to a concert with?: I meet all my friends AT the show, and usually travel there alone.

Worst Friend to go to a concert with?: I went to Ozzfest 2000 with a 4-5 other friends, but this douche named Fletcher kept throwing plastic bottles at people and finally got kicked out. We made him wait in the parking lot.


Best thing to bring to a concert?: MONEY.

Worst thing to bring to a concert?: people who are not into the music.

Best season to go to concerts?: Winter....it never gets cold inside the clubs here, but at least it's nice and cool outside.

Best concert memory?: At System Of A Down I had this really hot chick that was obviously on something powerful fondling me....unfortunately my chick was at the show too...so I just kinda backed up.

Funnest thing ever done at a concert?: Moshing at Pantera in '95...literally the BIGGEST moshpit I have ever seen, or ever will see again. They were in a stadium and there were people moshing IN THE AISLES all the way to the top!!!

Worst thing ever done at a concert?: hmmm...dislocating my knee at my own band's show.

Longest concert ever attended?: Either one of the Ozzfests I went to.

Upcoming concerts wishing to attend?: Napalm Death, Ministry and Meshuggah, Rotting Christ, Nile, Cephalic Carnage, Beneath The Massacre.

Most annoying thing at a concert?: SCENESTER KIDS LATELY WHO HAVE NO CLUE. Amen.

Least favorite venue?: Probably Sin13 when it was open....too small.

Do you prefer seats or the pit?: Right on the edge of the pit, I love the action, and I love the fact that someone, somewhere, sometime will make the mistake of hitting me.

Do you usually buy food/drinks at a concert?: Yes, we have a badass Pizza place at our venue, and I buy beer like no tomorrow.
