So so behind the times on this I know. I figured I better catch up with the craze now that it's over. I read the book and then watched the movie. I really liked how the movie followed the book pretty much exactly for at least the first half. They had to start condensing it toward the end there, but it was really cool. The ceiling in the dining room was portrayed in the movie EXACTLY as I pictured it reading the book. So awesome.

So every seems to love Harry Potter for some reason or another. Let's discuss :)

Are you talking ab out the first one Harry Potter and the Sorcerers stone?

That is a great movie. Really they're all pretty damn good though the third one (I think) lacked the great cinematography.

I loved all the books, and I think that the movies keep getting better each round. Looking forward to the next movie installment.

Yeah, I was talking about the first one. I just started on this whole Harry Potter thing. I'm waiting for my friend to finish the 2nd book before I borrow it from her, then I'll see the 2nd movie. I like to read books before I see movies if I can manage it.

Ok, I watched "The Chamber of Secrets" and "The Prisoner of Azkaban" over the last week.

Chamber was still ok in keeping with the book most of the way through - at least as much as they could. I thought they tied everything in pretty well.

I don't like the turn the series took with Prisoner. I know to do the whole book it would be a ridiculously long movie, but I felt they didn't show some things that kinda mattered, but they did spend longer times on things that didn't matter as much. And I hated that there was no 2nd quidditch match (They WIN the house cup in the third book for christ's sake - I think that's pretty dang important).

I also found myself having to explain a lot of what was happening to the other three people watching the movie with me, none of whom have read the books. So - I know that MOST people who will see the movies HAVE read the books, but to those who haven't there are plenty of elements that are a little confusing.
