Prior to yesterday I liked that stuff well enough, but never gave it much of a chance. Then, as I tried to find "Moonchild" from 7th Son on one of my compilations, I found myself enjoying "Phantom of the Opera" and "Killers" very much. From there I noticed just how influential Iron Maiden's first two albums were to thrash. For instance, is it a stretch to think that Dave Mustaine listened to Killers one day in '81 or '82, and then wrote the main riff for "Killing is My Business" on the spot?

It had to have been a huge influence on Thrash. What metal honestly isn't influenced by Iron Maiden one way or another. I know Slayer love Maiden.

As cool as Bruce is, I listen to songs from Killers more than any other Maiden album :monkey

I still need to pick up Killers one of these days. Their stuff was most definitely an influence on thrash and power metal, but I don't think they really came into their own until Dickinson joined.

Think you're really going to dig Killers, Brad.

There's so many great Di'Anno-era songs! One that immediately comes to mind as a fave is "Remember Tomorrow".

I got his 'Gogmagog' on my MP3 player that I'll check out later. Slowly, but surely am checking out his solo material (Praying Mantis, Paul Di'Anno's Killers, Paul Di'Anno's Battlezone, etc...).
