I bought the DVD previewed from Blockbuster. It was a 2007 movie starring John Cusack. He writes stories about ghosts and does not really encounter anything in his travels to supposedly haunted places until he spends the night in the Dolphin Hotel in room 1408...this is a mindbender.

I think I remember something about this movie, but me and the wife never got around to going to catch it in the theater for some reason. We both enjoy John Cusack, so maybe we might Netflix this one. I will have to see if it is available for streaming yet.

This is the best Stephen King to date.

It just may be, and is definitely up there with The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile.

It's just too bad that King has come up with absolute crap like The Mist as well.

I like John Cusack but I didn't find anything special about this movie. Actually I found it rather boring.

I actually really enjoyed the movie. My expectations were pretty low since its a thriller/horror film, but they did a nice job with it.

Watched this last night and it was fuckin awesome. Especially the last scene. I was like "whoa" at the end. Great flick.

bleh. I thought it was horrible. I started off decent and just swelled into a shitball.

Ending was terrible. He should have died in the room

stephen king usually doesnt roll that way. i think him getting out alive and then his wife hearing part of what happened in the room was a way better ending than him dying in the room.

Didn't the song and radio trip you out? With the countdown and the song "We've only just begun" This reminded me of acid trips. Not the visual part, but the psychological aspect.Like when you peak on a trip and later think it's going away only to realize shortly later that there is a long way to go before you can come down. This movie just really had an affect on me.

Now you are talking my language! And yes, I agree.
