Ok, so there are ALOT of new thrash bands that are actually just straight up thrash. I'm checking all of them out, but heres one. They are fucking awesome! Brand new band. They have one album out and its been out less than a year. Check out Massive Execution. Its definitely my favorite song I've heard by them so far. Everyone check out their Myspace page!

Fueled by Fire sounds like Reign in Blood era Slayer mixed with Eternal Nightmare era Vio-Lence. Fucking badass!

Good stuff, but not my favorite of the new thrash generation.

Yeah, there are some good ones like Warbringer and Evile. I'm curious, what is your favorite of the new generation?

Warbringer comes off as way too one dimensional for me. Fueled By Fire has more diversity and so they keep my interest longer.

Mark, you should really try to cover these bands hardcore. A style you love is reemerging and all of these bands are just starting out and on non-major labels. It probably wouldn't be to hard to get some interviews with these guys. I remember when I was 15 and I joined this place, I used to read your reviews and you used to always say how much you hated when a band claimed to be old school thrash and it was just the same death metal garabage, well I think that these new waves of bands are the real deal. I'm very very interested to see what some of these bands come up with in the next 5 years. Haha, maybe 2007 is the new 1983 and thrash will be a prominent form of metal for the next 10 years again. I think covering this new generation really good would be really cool. You could have Rockmymonkey be the place to hear about all the new thrash bands. Thats just my 2 cents, I'm not really good at this stuff like you Mark. I do have a list of all the new thrash bands I have been hearing about from magazines and just looking around on the internet and checking out Myspace pages, if your interested.

Yeah, I have spent so much damn time trying to get my live show going that I can barely check out these forums. :cry <-me being emo I am so close to being ready that it is frustrating to be honest.
I got a deal for you. Want to help schedule interviews? Seriously. I can see if I can make a "wiki" style calendar that my wife, you, Amon, and maybe some others can get in with. I am going to need some major help filling all the time slots. So you can be in charge of hunting down all the best unsigned (and signed but unknown) thrash bands. :metal

I'll gladly get in on this if it's cool.

Yeah, I would try to do this. We need to get an interview with Evile. These guys are really good.

I will see how I can work that all in. I still need to figure out how I can create the system. Right now I have no clue how to pull this off. It will take some serious programing.

If you can somehow make this work it would fucking rule since I've been waiting seemingly forever for a thrash revival like this, and I'm hoping that I'll be able to say I was among the first people to interview/get to know these bands when they initially started. :metal

My thoughts exactly. I'm really liking what I'm hearing from these new thrash bands and its all of their first albums still. One of these bands could go on and be the next big metal band and make some awesome thrash anthems! :headbanger
I know thrash isn't brain surgery
And that's why some of the best guitar playing and drumming from a technical standpoint is within a ton of thrash songs? :wtf
Oh please. If technical ability had shit to do with good songwriting, Spiral Architect would probably be the best band in the history of music.
Fact is that thrash takes a lot of talent, no one is disputing it. I love thrash, but I also have some standards. Just because a band plays thrash doesn't mean I will love them. FBF does no justice to bands like Exodus, Kreator, Tankards, Testament (old... i can live without the newer stuff), etc. etc. I just find it to be a poorly done copy of former bands. Give me some Forbidden.
I definitely agree with this, except I like Fueled By Fire thus far.
