you guys have just brought this up in another thread, but i'm very interested in finding new awsome folk metal bands (with harsh vocals). so far, i'm a devout listener of Finntroll, Ensiferum, Korpiklaani, Wintersun, and Windir.
i'm starting to get into Moonsorrow and Cadacross. does anyone have any suggestion on some of their best songs?
or does anyone know of any other folk metal bands along the same lines of these?

Suidakra. I've only heard a few of their albums, but I highly recommend "Emprise To Avalon" and "Auld Lang Syne". Also, if you haven't heard "Elegy" from Amorphis you'd probably like it.

Empyrium is pretty meh.

In Extremo is one of the better folk metal bands, but I'm not sure if you'd consider them harsh vocals. The singer sounds like the singer from Rammstein if that counts.

Turisas is an amazing band, although their midi sounds are rather hokey.

Thyrfing is more like black metal than folk metal, but they're decent.

I love (The Lord Weird) Slough Feg. They're like a traditional metal version of folk metal with a singer who sounds exactly like what I think a viking would sound like.

Kromlek has some decent sounds but their production is kind of cheap.

Folkearth is a rather fun folk metal band with cleaner vocals. They kind of switch back and forth on shit.

Trollfest is also a fun band. Kind of like a crazy version of Finntroll.

I don't remember the full name of the band but Dalriada should be enough to find them. They're a female frontedish symphonic black metal band with deep/harshish vocals to go with her. It's a pretty fun band.

Lothloryen is pretty good but don't have great production and don't have any harsh vocals, but I just wanted to add them here because I like them.

So there's a few...

Check out 'Nola' by Down, definetly has a blues/stoner rock feel to it.

There's a band called Wuthering Heights out there that's good.

Now, the vocals aren't that harsh, but the melodies are good. I reviewed a CD of there's a little over a year ago - not sure if that's the latest one. But, I do suggest you check out the band.

metal is loud, distorted, angry music the pushes the envelope and rebels against authority.

folk music is played on grandpas guitars by hippies like cat stevens.

i find them to be very boring. talented musicians, there is no denying that, they just bore me to tears. i would rather listen to rigor mortis setting in.
