has anyone here ever had their absolute worst nightmare come true in a dream, and then think 100% that it's real, even after they wake up?

this happend to me last night and i didn't calm down until about a half hour after i woke up this morning when i finally realized it was just a dream.

Maybe not my worst nightmare, but I tend to have a lot of dreams like that. I find most of them happen when I really can't get into a deep sleep and I'll blur the lines between fiction and reality. It happened to me yesterday. I had a dream that I had stored something of importance in my biscotti jar. When I got of bed I looked for it and my lady looked at me like I was crazy. There was nothing in the jar of course, so maybe she's right for thinkin' I'm a bit bonkers, eh?

ok, so i just had a pretty cool dream last night where half of the earth lived underground (including me) because the human population got out of control. everything was connected by hallways, and instead of houses or bulidings, there were giant rooms instead. the underground was more easy-going than above ground, with less rules (lower drinking age, marijuana legal, etc.). the only setback is that no one was allowed to drive cars (seeing as how there were no roads), so you had to take elevators and mass transit everywhere. another weird thing was that if you wanted to go above ground to visit people on that side, you could only visit up to 4 times a year.

i also had a pretty fucked up dream before that. i dreamt my parents were getting re-married, and the whole thing was a complete nightmare. my whole family was so drunk and obnoxious and they were deliberately trying to piss off me and my mom. and because my mom got raging pissed, she also took it out on me (and included me with them) for "ruining her special day". then she set the building on fire, and blocked the entrance/exit, so the only way out was through the windows overlooking the bay. i was the last one to reach the windows and my dress was on fire so i couldn't make it out, and no one would help me. they just sat in the bay, watching. then a bomb went off as i was burning alive so everyone died anyway. fucked up, right?

Well, mine aren't fucked up, but they are weird, bizarre, random, senseless, meaningless, so on and so forth all of the damn time.

I had a messed up one I dont remember many details but in this dream somehow me and my "friend" where strangling each other Homer Simpson style. It seemed like we where both about to suffocate and then i wake up still not able to breathe come to find out my sinus' was completely blocked up and I was under the covers so breathing threw my mouth was not really working... I really wish i remembered more of this dream even if it was fucked up I never remember dreams i have.

my dream last night was very weird. i dreamt i was in the car with my bassist. he drives very fast. so i dreamt he was on the phone and not paying attention so we flew off the road and crashed in this swampy-type area. we saw that there was a military base back there so we went to get help. they came to get us with biohazard suits and kept us hostage there for like a year. apparently the swamp we walked through was highly nuclear and top secret. so after a year, i finally found a way out of there and went to my cousin's house to hide from the military.
