Didn't know exactly where this should go, as Melvins are (in my opinion) midway between doom/sludge and punk, but I put it here because I've met more metalheads that like the melvins than punks. Anyway, just seeing if anyone else likes this sweet-as-hell band, and what album(s) you think are the cream of the crop of their kirstie allie-sized catalogue?
I put Houdini at numero uno, with ozma at a close second, then Hostile Ambient Takeover.
And to make it more interesting, you can include side projects (like Fantomas)

Yeah, that is a tough call since Melvins have a pretty unique sound that is all their own. However, I did move it from the extreme metal section since they are not really known for their blast beats and cookie monster vocals. :D
Welcome to the site. We need more people with wide varied tastes. :cheers

I'd have to say Houdini, because its the only album I've really heard...
The Melvins with Jello Biafra for the win.

Meh...
but check out Jello with NoMeansNo
I like LYSOL by The Melvins best,..Namely for their Flipper Cover
and the two disc rarities where Melvins cover Flipper and The Germs too:monkey

Stoner Witch, Bootlicker, Senile Animal, and Gluey Porch Treatments. Honorable mentions go out to Houdini and Electroretard. But really, you can't go wrong with any Melvins album.

I love their live DVD with the 10 minute guitar solo which consists of him picking only one string in the same spot repeatedly until people want to commit suicide:D
