Fear Factory

Download the Interview

A few weeks ago I did an interview with Raymond Herrera. We were then contacted and asked if we could give Burton C Bell his chance to answer to some of the things said in our interview with Raymond. We are always open to letting both sides of a dispute speak, but we want to make it clear that we take no sides. We are fans of all sides of this debate. Our goal is to get the facts out in hopes that it can somehow lead to resolution.

Burton wanted to make a public statement, so I have transcribed that portion.
"Mark, before I go off on all the Comments and everything I'd like to make an official statement. First of all thank you for letting me do this statement and I appreciate your time Mark. First of all I want to cut through a lot of the confusion about one issue since it really will be part of every answer. I have not made a public statement about it, not wanting to air dirty laundry, but I have been forced to correct certain misstatements by Raymond and Christian. The fact that I have not worked with Raymond and Christian for the past 3 years as Fear Factory is for this one reason. Is that I did not want to be involved with their manager. Her name is Christy Priske and She happens to be Christian's wife. During the Transgression mixing session her and Raymond started a love affair that lasted for a couple years. As manager of Fear Factory this was completely unacceptable to me."

Please listen to both interviews in their entirety so you know the whole story.

Man! why do women have to screw everything men achieve? something like this happened with Sepultura ten years ago...

God damned!!!

And yes Gloria (Max his wife) was the reason for the split of Sepultura. The rest of the band couldn't accept that she was both Max' wife and band manager. I hope that some day they can put their differences away and reunite as the original Fear Factory, with Dino on guitar and Christian on Bass...

i agree, these band's need to learn to keep wive's and girlfriends out of the loop. women, and managing bands don't mix. fear factory is such a good band, it's a shame this BS has to ruin a good thing.

Now we know who was the culprit behind the lawsuit shit then- takes a woman to smell out some easy cash!!!

So was ray laying dirt where christain was while having the affair or is christian laying afterwards.
Very true though you cant use an insider as a manager(especially a parner)...

Im a touch confused.. In that initial statement Burt said,

"Her name is Christy Priske and She happens to be Christian's wife. During the Transgression mixing session her and Raymond started a love affair that lasted for a couple years."

So what Raymond starts banging Christians wife and they go on to record an album together? Man this chick has her hand up both their arses by sounds of things. Burton seems in the right on this one. Theres no way she should be managing the band, thats a complete disaster waiting to happen. Its easy to take Raymonds side on all this but when you read between the lines, he IS just chasing the cash, cash which he knows he doesn't need. The day Raymond said to Burton he will never work with him again is the day he divorced himself from Fear Factory. You can replace Dino, you can Replace Christian, and you can replace Raymond but you CAN NOT replace Burton.

If you are reading this Burton, heres one thing to consider. The new lineup will shit all over Arkaea. Their album really is quite boring and has maybe 1 or 2 good songs. They seemed like they had a ton of good music written but because Howards vocals were so difficult to fit them, the good songs became mundane riffs with no soul (Christian admitted he toned the guitars back at the last minute himself for this reason). But as a vocalist, Burton is not only superior, he is unique. Howard sounds like some love child from Lincoln Park and is a slap in the face to real metal bands. Any band you guys form has my allegiance because im in Fear Factory for Burton. The point im trying to get across is, let this law suit get you guys mega publicity, write the best fucking album you can with all the usual killer vox hooks and Dino's songwriting prowess, add Hoglan's own creative input and do exactly as Arkaea have done, use the Fear Factory brand to launchpad a new brand / new band and never look back.
