Abrasive Rock: Tell us a little about your history and how Superheavygoatass was created?

S.H.G.A.: Emaculate conception, my friend. Christian rockers in the hiz-ouse!!! Oh come on! what were you expecting, really? We were tired of watchin tv.

Abrasive Rock: Where did you come up with the name Superheavygoatass (best band name ever)?

S.H.G.A.: How did you know that we were goin to add "best band name ever" at the end???? I kid, I kid!!! Brent introduced the name "Goat Ass" to us on a road trip as he passed some of those hairy little bitches. We agreed to use the name for one night for lack of a more interesting name. We thought it was just stupid enough to be half-assed amusing, although risking being scoffed at. Well, we never realized how many literal scoffs there would actually be... Later we refused to adopt the "Super Heavy" part till Handsome Joel suggested it by spelling it out on a sign at a show.

Abrasive Rock: How long have you guys been together?

S.H.G.A.: It was a 3 piece for 2 yrs. And Derrick started showing up for 4 more.(6)

Abrasive Rock: How does your music differ from other Texan Stoner Rock bands?

S.H.G.A.: Are we Stoner? WHAAAAA? Is there another TX Stoner band? Please let me have your number so we can listen to Kyuss together. J/K ya fuckin pot heads!

Abrasive Rock: Which past and present bands have influenced you the most?

S.H.G.A.: 1)Derrick-Kiss, & (Old)Metallica, Alice In Chains, & Corrosion Of Conformity.
2)Brent-Alice Cooper, & Cactus, Fu Manchu, & Clutch.
3)Scott-Captain Beyond, & Black Sabbath, Mule, & Kyuss.
4)Russell-(Old)Ted Nugent & Black Oak Arkansas, Government Mule, & Raging Slab.

Abrasive Rock: Have any of you played in other bands? If so could you name some?

S.H.G.A.: 1)Derrick-Activator, Buzzbomb.
2)Russell-Jacket Walker.
3)Brent-None (Only Available For Shga).
4)Scott-Activator, Hognose.

Abrasive Rock: You have a new album called 60,00 Years that was just released. How does this album differ from your previous albums?

S.H.G.A.: It's good. No, wait, I meant better not good.

Abrasive Rock: What was the most difficult part of 60,00 Years?

S.H.G.A.: The perplexity of our thoughts were conveyed and then ultimately destroyed by death rays from these crazy evil robot's eyes. Sorry I'm an asshole but it's better than the truth.

Abrasive Rock: What was your inspiration behind your new album?

S.H.G.A.: Seriously, we just want to play music that we wanna hear. We're all inspired by life you know, good and bad things. I kind of feed off of the idea that w/out bad there is no good. The old heaven and hell thing. oh yeah, then there's all that rock we've pumped into our brains over the years.

Abrasive Rock: As some people are just getting into the 60,00 Years album, what do you, as an artist, hope that people can get out of it?

S.H.G.A.: I hope it makes them feel like Peter Frampton on X.

Abrasive Rock: What do you think David Elizondo brought to the table that would otherwise be missing?

S.H.G.A.: That's what's missing. All the geeky shit he deleted.(See next question)

Abrasive Rock: How did you come up with the artwork and how much direction/control did you give the artist?

S.H.G.A.: Dave had a book that we kiped all of it from. He's gonna get sued! Whoah whoah, but really, Dave did turn us on to all this cool art. Eventually, Mauro Arrrmbiddee (sp?,booker, label, mngr) and myself picked out the lay-out. We were gonna do the frozen dinosaurs on the back but we stuck w/the sci-fi thing. In other words, the actual artist had none but all the control that we could possibly give him/her for this project?(sorry, i'll stop.)

Abrasive Rock: Who do you feel is the best new band to come out in the last 5 years?

S.H.G.A.: Dixie Witch. no shit yall.

Abrasive Rock: What do you think is the most common mistake unsigned bands make trying to 'make it'?

S.H.G.A.: They try to "make it" without selling there soul to the devil...

Abrasive Rock: Is there going to be a single and video release for the album?

S.H.G.A.: It's possible, it's possible. We're discussing some ideas w/ some peeps here in town. In this area it is so easy to cheese out. Am i right? it could turn out to be a 3 minute horror flick.(see what i mean?)

Abrasive Rock: What are the tour plans?

S.H.G.A.: August-Lubbock, Albuquerque, Phoenix, L.A., San Fran, Reno,Salt Lake, Denver, Wichita, Dallas, Etc.

Abrasive Rock: Name 5 bands you would like to wipe off the planet

S.H.G.A.: Dave Matthews, Dave Matthews, Dave Matthews, Dave Matthews, & Peter Frampton

Abrasive Rock: Is there anything else you'd like to add?

S.H.G.A.: Yes! Thanks for letting us into your world. We appreciate our first amendment rights and waisting your time!!!
