This is a GOOD reason why I don't always pay attention to the vocalists of *every single band* and really keep my ears on the actual production of music....especially the lead guitarist....because a lot of the time, I'm pretty much thinking and feeling the same way you are...all the vocalists are all starting to sound like one another and the same out there.

Bert, Steam Punk has nothing to do with music really. It is more of a CosPlay kind of thing. It's a nerd culture thing. I am trying to expand what RMM is about and this is part of that.

It was the most interesting event. I saw some great costumes that made me want to create my fantasy character. Ed H. had me cracking up the whole time! I went home and Built some steam!

But that is exactly my point. Slayer has something that those bands do not. Slayer can draw fans of the extreme metal because of the brutality, but also draw people that care less about brutality and care more about the craft of song writing. Why do they draw both? It is the fact that they draw both that they get such massive crowds.

Now this doesn't mean that the extreme metal bands are not as "good" because good is up to the individual listener. But it does mean that they have something that those bands do not.

Also, I have to throw in a few jabs to see if you're paying attention. :D

Oh, comparing Slayer to Cannibal Corpse....hmmmm...now I have to say you're delusional. Get over your death metal hatred, sir. *fart* And I beg to differ about your little attack on extreme metal - it's a known fact that extreme metal has a smaller following, derp. Obviously it's not as accessible as Slayer, and American audiences need their accessiblilty, doncha know? Oh, in Europe, extreme metal bands DO pack theaters like Slayer does here.
