Energy Drink Update For Dec 1st!

So I know there have not been any public announcements about Rock My Monkey Energy drink in a about a week. There is a reason. There is tons of stuff going on behind the scenes. So let me fill you all in on what is happening behind the scenes. Many have said I am too transparent, but it is the only way I know how to do this kind of thing.

To sell product in stores you need a bar-code/upc code. The first shipment of Rock My Monkey Energy Drink didn't need a bar code because it was for internet sales and test samples. So we gave a ton away to those lucky local friends, used a ton making videos (more on that later), sold some online HERE, and then dropped off a few at some stores we will be selling the stuff at soon. Well, that testing phase is well over and you people LOVE the stuff!

So now we need a bar code. We were told we could have a bar code added by the same company that fills the cans for us. The problem with that is that our company would not own the bar code. That makes things look less legit. We want to do this as legit as we can possibly know how. So we found the main source to register for having your own bar codes. It wanted to charge us $760. Not a huge problem in the grand scheme of things, but I do not have any investors at this time. So everything is done out of pocket. So payday just hit and we got the registration done.

So the plan currently is to beg the mighty Chris Shealy to help us re-do the artwork so that the bar code can be added. Then we will order a new batch of cans with that magical bar code the outlets need us to have on there. Then we will start announcing physical places to get the stuff every few weeks. This kind of stuff takes time so we are currently looking at January 1st as the date we will make the order. Sometime in February it should hit a very limited amount of stores within the Western Washington area.  

So what about those band sponsorships? Well, we are dragging our feet on that. Why? Take a look at the reasons painstakingly explained above. When we announce these bands we want to make sure that we can do it with the proper hype that they deserve. Several bands have already been contacted and know they will be part of this.

Now why is it so important to have bar codes that are registered by us? Well, not only will the bar code be listed as under our company, but we are looking for a company a little closer to us to handle the filling, sealing, and printing of the cans. This will save us a ton of money that we can use towards maybe lowering the price, supporting our artists more, and growing as a company. When we switch filling companies, we don't want to have to switch the bar codes on all our retail outlets. So for the long term outlook of the company this will make things better.

That is the explanation for what is taking so long. It always has to do with doing this right, doing this legit, and keeping the long term 'big picture' in mind. We thank you for your patience.
