Biggest Rock & Roll Party Weekend…Live From The Las Vegas Strip

Rock fans from across the country converged for the inaugural 48 Hours Festival Powered by Rockstar Energy Drink--the ultimate destination rock music event--on  Saturday, October 15 and Sunday, October 16 at the Luxor Festival Grounds on the world-famous Las Vegas Strip. 48 Hours Festival featured a royal flush of festivities at various Las Vegas locations spanning the entire weekend.

48 Hours Festival Powered by Rockstar Energy Drink included performances from 22 bands on two stages, including Avenged Sevenfold, Korn, Godsmack, Five Finger Death Punch, Three Days Grace, Seether, Hollywood Undead, Sick Puppies, Escape The Fate, Sevendust, Hatebreed, Adelitas Way and many more. The festival also featured multiple Rockstar/Metal Mulisha big air freestyle motocross jump shows.

48 Hours Festival delivered an unbelievable live experience, thrills and amenities, with never-before-seen VIP opportunities in high demand, including “The Godfather” package, which allowed fans to watch the show from bleachers on the main stage and included an exclusive backstage lounge complete with pole dancers. The “All Excess--Cabanas” package featured full service private cabanas with premium elevated sight lines and a private wading pool for each cabana, while the “Debauchery VIP” package included a VIP only tent and private bar.

48 Hours Festival producer Larry Jacobson said, “We knew Las Vegas needed a massive rock festival and the overwhelming response to 48 Hours proves the fans finally got what they wanted. We're grateful to everyone for coming out our first year. We are already planning next year's festival and will return with a vengeance; bigger, better and louder."

“We are thrilled about the phenomenal reaction to 48 Hours and are proud to be part of the amazing team that brought this huge show to life,” said Rich Best, Live Nation/So-Cal’s Senior Vice President of Booking.  “A festival must be much more than just a collection of bands to truly matter, and with 48 Hours the combination of a great lineup, incredible staging, a fan-friendly experience and the unique Vegas atmosphere has already branded this show as a destination event.  We can’t wait for 2012.”

Here’s what the press had to say about the first annual 48 Hours Festival Powered by Rockstar Energy Drink:

“…a music lover’s dream…the coolest thing to hit the Las Vegas Strip…the biggest rock and roll music festival…”

                                                --FOX5 MORE, October 14, 2011

“…this upstart festival is valued by bands and fans alike…”

--Josh Bell, Las Vegas Weekly, October 16, 2011

“…Avenged Sevenfold, Five Finger Death Punch, Three Days Grace, Godsmack and Korn garnered enthusiastic audience response, with vigorous mosh pits and loud sing-alongs…the vibe was celebratory and inclusive, with multiple bands dedicating songs to the members of the armed forces and to fallen musical comrades…Maybe the key to mounting a successful music festival in Vegas is to stop worrying about what’s cool and just book what people want to see…the audience response was overwhelmingly positive.”

--Josh Bell, Las Vegas Weekly, October 19, 2011

“In a sea of black T-shirts and devil-horn hand gestures positioned near the main stage Sunday evening lies the spirit of some of the purest, most enthusiastic metal rock fans Las Vegas has ever seen. Las Vegas Boulevard over the weekend was invaded by men and women who, for the love of rock, spent their Saturday and Sunday either on or near the Luxor Festival Grounds where Rockstar Energy Drink presented The 48 Hours Festival, at which the essence of rock metal music and its culture set up shop. Headlining acts Avenged Sevenfold, Korn and Godsmack led a ferociously loud music assault, along with an incredible lineup of some of the world’s hardest rock acts, across from the Luxor. The grounds featured two independent stages (The Rockstar Energy Drink Mainstage & The Ernie Ball Stage) where metal heads were able to travel from performance to performance in a matter of minutes while catching one solid act after another. And equipped with booths providing food, clothing and rock paraphernalia, there was little reason for patrons to leave the festival the two days…Complete with after-parties at House of Blues at Mandalay Bay, after-after-parties at sponsored gentlemen’s clubs and pool parties sponsored by event organizers, the festival never stopped...”

--Brjden Crewe, Las Vegas Sun, October 19, 2011

“People came from all over the country to watch these bands rip it up in Las Vegas…Everyone I talked to at the event said this had been one of the best musical festivals they have ever attended.”

                                                --Gabe Ginsberg, Examiner.com, October 17, 2011

“Having 22 bands performing across two days seemed too good to be true for fans of the genre, but the headliners of the shows made sure the show lived up to the hype…clearly a success.”

--Sean Jaramillo, UNLV Rebel Yell, October 17, 2011

“This inaugural attempt was a phenomenal effort and I definitely look forward to returning for a repeat next year.”

                                                --Paul Hebert, SoCalMusicToday.com, October 19, 2011

“…a never ending cavalcade of today’s hottest rock bands marched into the Luxor Festival Grounds and set up shop. The two-day 48 Hours Festival boasted two jam-packed days of 22 bands playing on two stages. The show marked the first outdoor hard rock and metal festival to descend on the Vegas Strip, and with any luck, the first of many.”

Star City Meltdown Sign To Standby Records

Johnson City, TN’s Star City Meltdown has signed with Standby Records (Black Veil Brides, Modern Day Escape). The band’s label debut 'Razorblades & Handgrenades' was produced by former Creed bassist Brett Hestla (Framing Hanley, Dark New Day, Tantric) and is scheduled for release in November. Joining the lineup as the newest member of the band is former Black Veil Brides guitarist, Chris Stewart.

With an explosive stage show, an uncompromising confidence, and a sound described as "Journey meets Avenged Sevenfold", this 5 piece rock act has been winning over audiences everywhere they perform. The band’s 2009 debut album “Stick in the Eye” (also produced by Hestla) and a tour with Saliva gained the band a rabid underground fanbase, which spurred impressive sales through live shows alone.

Watch for Star City Meltdown to build on their earlier success with upcoming shows supporting Art of Dying, Crossfade, and Korn. Headline dates and festival appearances will round out the band’s touring schedule through the rest of 2011.
