Artillery returned on the metal scene in June 2009 with a brand new studio album. New material entitled “When Death Comes” was their first studio release since the 1999’s album “B.A.C.K”!

The band is one of Europe’s earliest exponents of thrash metal and the band’s contribution to the bourgeoning genre is difficult to ignore. The Danish quartet successfully managed to fuse an abrasive brutality with technicality and good melodies, with the noteworthy guitar leads of the Stützer brothers as well as the remarkable vocals from Flemming Rønsdorf serving as highlights. Due to Artillery’s demos being well distributed, the band gained worldwide recognition even before the release of their first official album; and the band’s first three studio albums, “Fear of Tomorrow”, “Terror Squad” and “By Inheritance”, all assumed the status of classics in the thrash genre. However, due to lack of support from labels and internal band disputes, Artillery never really achieved their big breakthrough and thus split up in 1991.

In late 1999, Artillery reunited and released the critically acclaimed album “B.A.C.K.”, but they never really took off as a band again. A few live appearances came in the wake of the release, only to be followed by silence. However, in 2008 the classic core of Artillery, consisting of Morten and Michael Stützer as well as Peter Thorslund (bass) and Carsten N. Nielsen (drums) rejoined forces and subsequently employed new vocalist Søren Adamsen, who provided the band with a rejuvenated energy and a musical prowess that was soon witnessed on the live DVD “One Foot in the Grave, The Other One in the Trash”, containing updated versions of classic material.

A new chapter in the life of Artillery begun with their brand new studio album, “When Death Comes”, containing 10 blistering tracks that fill the void between past glory and future splendour. For full details on the album go to: www.metalmind.com.pl

We are very happy to announce that on Saturday, January 16th, British band DeeExpus received “Best New Band of 2009” at the Classic Rock Society’s Band of the Year Awards!! This prestigious award summarizes the band’s hard work on getting a recognition both by music fans and press in the past year.

Andy Ditchfield: "We are incredibly proud and honoured to have won //Best New Band// of 2009 at the Classic Rock Societies Band of the Year Awards and would really like to thank all who voted for us. We are made up :)
2009 has been our first full year as a band and what a baptism of fire it’s been. We played our first ever gig on 24th Jan 2009 and in Feb were whisked off to shoot a DVD in Poland where we played with RPWL. We've played Cambridge Rock Festival with Manning and Tinyfish (and Asia, The Quireboys, Uriah Heep, Touchstone etc) Rotherham Rocks with Pendragon, toured with Touchstone and have been confirmed to play Rosfest 2010 in May. We've had review after review of "Half Way Home" and "Far From Home" all of which have been amazingly positive and sometimes positively amazing!! (…) See you ALL a bit later in the year!”

This talented band from Durham has so far released one studio album entitled "Half Way Home" but with their superb performance at the first edition of Prog Rock Festival at the Wyspianski Theatre in Katowice, Poland (released in mid 2009 on “Far From Home” DVD), they proved that they do have much to say on the prog rock scene. Currently, the band is writing and recording the follow up to their debut album. The new material entitled "King of Number 33" is scheduled for the release later this year.

DeeExpus first DVD "Far From Home" was released by Metal Mind Productions in July 2009 in 3 different formats: DVD, limited DVD+CD edition, including bonus audio CD with songs recorded during the gig at the theatre, and CD digipak. For full info please go to: www.deeexpus.com

Progressive rock band Riverside will release "Reality Dream", their first ever DVD, on 11th January 2010 (in US on 23rd February) and not in early December as it was previously announced. The release date was postponed due to technical problems that occurred at the pressing company.

***

Riverside, one of the most important progressive rock bands, can best be described as a stylistic blend of atmospheric rock and metal elements, resulting in a sound similar to that of Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree, Opeth, Dream Theater, and Tool, while still maintaining an identity of their own. Since the release of their debut album, Riverside have built a solid fan base in progressive rock genre. The band’s most recent fourth full-length album “Anno Domini High Definition” was released in mid 2009.

In May 2008, the band went on a mini-tour across Poland. The most significant date of the tour was May, 17th when Riverside played a special, over-two-hour gig in Łódź. The show was treated as a summary of the “Reality Dream Trilogy” (Out Of Myself – 2003, Second Life Syndrome – 2005 & Rapid Eye Movement - 2007). The concert was recorded and, so far, it was available in a limited audio only edition during their “Reality Dream Tour” in December 2008. Today, the fans of Riverside have a chance to see that special performance in its full glory as it is released as a double DVD. Apart from the complete performance in Łódź, “Reality Dream” DVD also includes a selection of live performances in various places around the world, including Canada, Germany and Holland, plus a documentary “Behind the Curtain – A film by John Vis” and a photo gallery.

Good news for the fans of Final Conflict! This progressive rock band from Midlands, UK is currently in the studio working on two new releases. The first one is their long awaited 6th full length studio album “The Return of the Artizan”. The second one is a re-release of the very successful album “Stand Up”. We are proud to announce that “Stand Up” re-issue will be released by Metal Mind Productions in early 2010.

“Stand Up” is the band’s third album which includes such classic FC’s tracks like “Stand Up”, “Miss D Meanour” or “Stop”. Originally released in 1997 by German Angular Records the album got sold out in 2003. Ever since then, the band wanted to re-release this title.

Andy Lawton (vocal, guitar) says: “A re-release of ‘Stand Up’ has always been a desire. However, the record company owned the recording rights to the album for a period of 5 years so our hands were tied. Also the original artwork and master recording had gone missing from the record company so we were forced to shelve any re-release plans until further notice. Album releases followed, and ‘Hindsight’ and ‘Simple’ were very successful in their own right. Throughout this period, a burning desire to re-release ‘Stand Up’ was never far away and we always harboured hope that somewhere along the line it would happen. 2008 saw Final Conflict play a hugely successful live concert in Poland with the subsequent release of a live DVD and CD – “Another Moment in Time” - helping to further enhance our reputation as a live band playing accessible progressive rock music. In 2009, Metal Mind Productions asked for permission to re-release ‘Stand Up’ on their own label. Final Conflict agreed to remaster the original soundtrack.”
As part of the deal it was agreed that bonus tracks be added to the album in order to help the first recording maintain its originality whilst offering new tracks.

Brian Donkin (vocal, guitar) explains: “With the re-release of the album it was decided by the band that three bonus tracks should be added. Firstly, we would re-record “A Moment in Time”. The inspiration behind this idea was the energy behind the new rhythm section of Henry Rogers (drums) and Barry Elwood (bass), which allowed the band to give this song more depth, feeling and power. So like true musicians we locked ourselves away in the studio and got down to some serious work and before we knew it we had completely changed the feel and mood of the song yet still keeping with the original arrangement (almost). Listening to the finished project, we are all very happy with the outcome and hope that you will be too. The next decision was to write a brand new Acoustic track. So, as before, the doors were locked in the Studio and we sat down (as you do when you get older) to start the task of writing lyrics. After many discussions on different topics, we got onto the subject of gambling and the many aspects that this conjured up, we then set about writing the lyrics based upon the many dilemmas that gambling can bring, thus naming the track “Losing it all”. This then inspired us to base the acoustics around a more dark and haunting rhythm, though in true FC spirit, we still kept the FC trademark sounds. The re-release of “Stand Up” promises to be a brilliant new album and we are just so excited to get it out there!!”
With all of the bonus tracks written and recorded now, the work on the re-release of Final Conflict's “Stand Up” album is gradually drawing to an end. Henry Rogers (drums): “We are moving along quickly at the moment, getting really stuck into the work that we have at hand, we are so excited to finish and hear the results of our work!”

The remastered edition of “Stand Up”, enriched in 3 bonus tracks, will be released by Metal Mind Productions in early 2010. Full details to be announced soon.

Final Conflict’s most recent release “Another Moment In Time – Live in Poland” is still available in 3 formats: DVD, limited DVD+CD edition and a limited CD digipak. For full details go here: http://www.metalmind.com.pl/index.ph...ctwa&more=1669

Osada Vida, one of the best progressive rock bands from Poland, returns with their third full-length album - “Uninvited Dreams”. The new album will be officially released in Europe next Monday, 23rd November. The band's American fans will have to wait till 1st December.

And today Łukasz Lisiak (bass, vocal) says about “Uninvited Dreams” lyrics: “As it was in the past, Adam Podzimski, our drummer, is the author of the lyrics. We have always avoided being literal and this hasn't changed this time as well. The album's title explains the whole content. Dreams have fascinated people through the years. Let’s look at all dreams' interpretations created in many cultures and centuries, fortune-tellers and astrologists, even scientists who tried to study dreams. We focused only on those “unwanted” ones. Everyone must have experienced a bad dream, one you wish to forget as soon as you wake up. At other times, although you wanted to dream about pleasures, no pleasant things appeared – just the black hole. Taking into consideration the fact that we sleep through 1/3 of our life, such situations are pretty frequent. Why? Because of stress, sadness and everyday problems inevitably accompanying our life. Sometimes, you go to bed with a hope that night will bring the desired solution and a change for the better. This is what the new CD is all about. In terms of lyrics, ”Univited Dreams” is probably Osada Vida’s saddest album. It’s no secret that we try to express the content through sounds rather than words. Therefore our albums are 70% instrumental. The same is true with reference to the new album, although we have prepared a few vocal surprises. I deeply believe that they are really positive and make the whole album sound fantastic. I will not reveal any more details – you'll have to wait for the release.”

You can listen to another sneak preview of the album. Track “My Nightmare Is Scared Of Me“ is available on Metal Mind Productions’ official Myspace profile: www.myspace.com/metalmindproductions

"Uninvited Dreams" will be released by Metal Mind Productions on 23rd November in Europe and 1st December in USA (via MVD) in two editions: as a standard jewel case CD and as a digipak with 3 bonus tracks.

Metal Mind Productions proudly presents the first DVD of one of the most important progressive rock bands - Riverside!

Riverside, the band hailing from Warsaw, Poland, can best be described as a stylistic blend of atmospheric rock and metal elements, resulting in a sound similar to that of Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree, Opeth, Dream Theater, and Tool, while still maintaining an identity of their own. Since the release of their debut album, Riverside have built a solid fan base in progressive rock genre.

In May 2008, the band went on a mini-tour across Poland. The most significant date of the tour was May, 17th when Riverside played a special, over-two-hour gig in Toya Studios in Łódź. The show was treated as a summary of the “Reality Dream Trilogy” (Out Of Myself – 2003, Second Life Syndrome – 2005 & Rapid Eye Movement - 2007). Apart from the great performance of the most important songs from the band’s three big releases, the band also prepared the best lighting in their live history with a few screens that showed some special visuals. The concert in Łódź was recorded and, so far, it was available in a limited audio only edition during their “Reality Dream Tour” in December 2008.

The graphic design was, once again, handled by Travis Smith (painter for such bands as Opeth, Anathema, and Devin Townsend).

"Reality Dream" 2 DVD will be available on 7th December 2009 in Europe (except for France - 11th January 2010) and 23rd February 2010 in USA (via MVD).

Riverside L-R: Piotr Grudziński, Mariusz Duda, Piotr Kozieradzki, Michał Łapaj

Riverside was founded by guitarist Piotr Grudziński, drummer Piotr Kozieradzki and vocalist/bassist Mariusz Duda in 2001. Soon after the recording of their debut album, “Out Of Myself”, keyboardist Michał Łapaj joined the band, completing the line-up which has impressed fans and media alike with their great technical skills. The band’s most recent fourth full-length album “Anno Domini High Definition” was released in mid 2009. The album sees Riverside take another step in the evolution of their extremely significant sound, showing a total focus on the here and now. “We don’t want to be one of those living-in-the-past prog bands,” Mariusz Duda (vocal/bass) points out. “We feel that we have something new to say, and lots of moments on this album feature a fresh approach to some things. First of all, our main influence – our lives, or to be more precise, the speed of our lives. That’s why we had to cut an extremely dynamic and pretty short record, which suits the times we live in.” Experts have called Riverside a stylistic mix of Tool, Porcupine Tree and Dream Theater, but Mariusz Duda reckons that other influences are more dominant on "Anno Domini High Definition": “We wanted to reflect the energy of the early 70's and combine it with modern sounds. Now I think there is more of a Rush, Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple sound. But at the end of the day, this record ultimately sounds like Riverside.”

Line-up: Piotr Grudziński (Guitar), Mariusz Duda (Vocals, Bass), Piotr Kozieradzki (Drums), Michał Łapaj (Keyboards).
