New York death metal legends IMMOLATION have scanned approximately 1600 copies of their new album Majesty and Decay in it’s first week of release in the United States. The CD landed at position No. 29 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

Majesty and Decay was recorded once again at Millbrook Sound Studios in New York with longtime producer Paul Orofino. Mixing duties were handled this time by Zack Ohren (DECREPIT BIRTH, SUFFOCATION, ALL SHALL PERISH). Cover art was created by Pär Olofsson (THE FACELESS, IMMORTAL, ABYSMAL DAWN).

IMMOLATION recently wrapped the “Those Whom The Gods Detest Tour” as direct support to NILE.

Majesty and Decay can be ordered with or without an exclusive shirt or hoodie design while supplies last at the following location http://store.nuclearblastusa.com/Art...molation/10504.

For immediate release:

WORLD UNDER BLOOD, the melodic death metal side project featuring CKY guitarist/vocalist Deron Miller alongside Tim Yeung (DIVINE HERESY, ex-VITAL REMAINS, ex-HATE ETERNAL) on drums, Risha Eryavec (ex-DECREPIT BIRTH) on bass, and Luke Jaeger (ex-SLEEP TERROR) on guitar, has finished the recording process for their debut album for Nuclear Blast titled Tactical. The record is tentatively due out sometime in the Summer of 2010.

Deron Miller commented:

“Tracking for our first record for Nuclear Blast is complete! I flew out to James Murphy's home studio to track the rest of the vocals and it was a very gratifying experience. I was in total awe of his vinyl collection and his cat Sasha, but most of all I was enamored by the professionalism and discipline he instilled during these sessions that really put me in my place. James really brought out the best in me and having only had 2 producers in my entire career, I can say that I'm lucky to be continually working with James Murphy and Chad Ginsburg. I've realized that in the end, the only way to have a top-notch producer with an amazing ear is to be working with someone who has a musical history and a musical ability themselves. Not just some overpaid name/reputation dude that leaves Post-It notes on Pro-Tools monitors. Those days are over.

The goal for the 8 original tunes that ended up on this album was that they would all be super fast, extremely brutal and harsh, catchy, melodic, and occasionally offensive & disturbing. I also had to make sure that the entire band was satisfied with their work. Tim Yeung is easily the most impressive drummer in the world. He thinks that some kid is going to come along and dethrone him speed-wise but as far as writing, arrangements, creative input and immediate knowledge of song structure he will never be beat. It's like the guy can read my mind. I present a somewhat intricate song to him and 50 minutes later we're demoed and done. Luke Jaeger flew through his solos in less than 8 hours. Murphy and I were thinking the same thing, ‘these solos have to be incredible and memorable’, not just finger flailing virtuoso garbage . He nailed them all. I wanted the best musicians for the job and i think we got it.

Personally, I love this record and am very pleased with it. It's probably the first album I've worked on where I truly don't care what anyone else thinks. I'll be blasting it for years and I'm confident you will too. Either way, we made a great record and i want to thank the band and Nuclear Blast worldwide for the opportunity. Also, the fans all over the world for their amazing support and encouragement. See you on tour!”

Tentative track list:

Dead And Still In Pain
Under The Autumn Low
A God Among The Waste
Pyro-Compulsive
I Can't Stand His Name
Into The Arms Of Cruelty
Revere's Tears
Purgatory Dormitory

And a couple of bonus tracks that will used on different territories and/or versions of the album:

Wake Up Dead (MEGADETH cover; bonus track)
Alliance Or War (MALEVOLENT CREATION cover; bonus track)

FORBIDDEN: FIRST STUDIO REPORT + WORKING SONG TITLES

After a thirteen-year hiatus, San Francisco's FORBIDDEN have returned to
the studio to record their as-yet-untitled fifth studio album. Last
week, drum tracks were recorded at Bombshelter Studios in downtown Los

Angeles with owner Eric Kretz (drummer & founding member of Stone Temple
Pilots). FORBIDDEN are currently at Sonic Room Studios in Livermore,
California tracking bass, guitar, and vocals.

Guitarist/songwriter Craig Locicero checks in about the band's
experience thus far:

"What a week it's been. Fucking insane!

February 28th - Mark [Hernandez], his tech Jeff (Trigger), Tim Narducci
and myself left for L.A. and the Bomb Shelter. We packed 3 drum sets
(all Sonor) and one guitar for me. It was one of my trusty Les Pauls, if
you're wondering - she's is a rock! Had dinner in Japan town at what
was referred to as the Denny's of sushi - good and cheap!

March 1st - I left early to go pick up the new Line 6/Bogner 100 watt
HD. Everyone else starting pulling out the pieces of drums and hardware
and matching whatever sounded best together. Mark switched out to one
maple kick drum instead of two birch ones. It simply sounded amazing!
He's had the same kick since 1990 when he joined Vio-lence. We were a
bit concerned about the one kick vs. two kick issue, but it sounded
perfect. Eric Kretz came down and lent us a hand and showed us some mic
techniques for the overheads... just enough to sound spectacular.

March 2nd - We started tracking at 12 and we nailed the first song in a
couple of hours. The next one was pretty easy as well. Tim was great
working with Mark and getting him to try different things for the sake
of the songs. His ear was money the entire session! On the third song,
we hit a snag with the click we set up before we left the Bay. It was
actually comical to watch Mark and I try to figure out what was wrong.
Kretz showed up and was sitting behind me for a while without my

knowledge. I turned around and we both laughed. Eventually we figured
out the click issue.

March 3rd - We started by taking the only showers of the week in the
morning! 'Scumbag metal dudes, we are!' (Yoda style.) It was a very
productive day after we cleaned up. We flew through 3 songs. Everything
went perfectly. The groove was grooving... whatever the hell that means
(???). It started to feel like a real record to me. Everything was

coming together wonderfully.

To be continued..."
