Queensryche's Sister Mary asks to join TSO!

Sometimes you hear about celebrity's asking for things that will just never happen. Like if Will Ferrell ever asked to work with Francis Ford Coppola or Steel Panther asking for voice over work from Gloria Steinem. Then other times you hear of iconic celebrity's asking for things where you lay in shock that they have not already been asked.   Like for example when Pamela Moore (a.k.a. Queensrych's Sister Mary) posted the following on her Facebook page, "Dear Universe, I have another request to add to my 'bucket list'. The chance to work with Trans Siberian Orchestra! Please and Thank you.... LOL Staging and production was AMAZING!!!!! WOW!" I am sure that we at RockMyMonkey are not the only ones to be in total shock that she has not been asked already. It seems such a perfect match. This is something a project like TSO does just for the press release!

So we are asking for your help dear readers. Share this story on Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, and G+. Re-post it on your own websites (feel free to take our name out and add yours if ya want). Send this to your favorite Metal sites and ask them to re-post it as well. Vote it up on Stumble Upon. Submit it to Digg and Reddit. Let's see if we can get TSO to hire Pamela Moore for next year. This just simply needs to happen, but we cannot do it without you.  Trans Siberian Orchestra, are you listening?

Ex-Members of Death Squad, Coven And Bitter End Launch Demon Dogs!

With one of the purest old school Metal sounds to be heard on a very long time, this band is sure to be a treat for anyone who misses bands who could actually write songs and wanted singers who could actually sing. This is old school Metal veterans of the Seattle scene coming together to remind everyone how it should be done. There is only one problem, they need a singer. Not Cookie Monster's retarded cousin. Not some flat monotone grizzly bear on the mic either. This person needs to be able to hold a note and belt it out like they mean it! When we asked the band what exactly they were looking for they responded with "Seeking Bruce Dickinford... Or Biff from Saxon maybe? touch of Phil a' la Cowboys," so if you have what it takes get over to their Facebook page and get in contact with them as soon as possible.

A sample of one of the songs the singer must be able to sing to can be found at http://www.demondogs.org/sound/BlessedCurse.mp3

Pearl Jam Snubs Hometown

click to enlargePearl Jam has announced their two-day music festival to celebrate their 20th anniversary. Awesome! Is it some cool small show at The Showbox Market in Pike Place Market? Nope. Ok, maybe The Moore Theater where they filmed part of their smash hit 'Evenflow' at the start of their career?  Nada! Ok, then it mut be at the Paramount Theater then right? Wrong again! Then it is obviously at Seattle's Key Arena then. Not even close. In fact it is not even in Seattle. It's not even anywhere near the Northwest area that helped kick off their success!

The Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, Wisconsin will play host to this historical event. The other bands scheduled to be there are The Strokes, Queens of the Stone Age, Mudhoney and others. This “Destination Weekend” festival is Pearl Jam’s only U.S. concert date in 2011.

No word has been given as to why the band has stuck their nose up at their home town like this. Do they even care?

Since the festival is scheduled for Memorial Day weekend this could have been a major event for Bumpershoot weekend.

Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder does have two Seattle dates from his solo tour in July if Seattle's music scene feels like giving him a piece of his mind.

RockMyMonkey previously reported HERE concerning the death of former ALICE IN CHAINS bassist MIKE STARR. A few days ago it was released (CLICK HERE FOR FULL STORY) that he was mixing drugs shortly before his death.

Mike had been using methadone recently in an effort to get sober -- but he had also been taking medication to battle anxiety issues he had been suffering from since his arrest last month.

It was said that Mike was doing a pretty good job managing his medication -- but according to Mike's roommate, Starr was "mixing" the meds Monday night .. just hours before he died.

Starr's roommate added, "Mike was a beautiful person who was fighting to stay sober ... I am going to miss him greatly."

It has been rumored that he was living in Salt Lake City while working with TRAVIS MEEKS on a relaunch of the band DAYS OF THE NEW, but at this time we cannot confirm this.

Aaron English Blends Middle Eastern Sounds With Beatles & Led Zep

click to enlargeHighly Respected Singer-Songwriter Combines Norwegian Wood & Kashmir For New Video

Fresh off the back of 2010’s stunning ‘American [Fever] Dream’ Aaron English returns with his latest release, a Middle Eastern- infused rock hybrid of the classic Led Zeppelin and Beatles tracks “Kashmir” & “Norwegian Wood”. Aaron had said this on the release:-

“We were on a break from our first U.S. tour & I heard some of the band jamming a Middle Eastern groove. I began singing “Norwegian Wood” over the top and this medley was born. It became one of our most popular live songs: recognizable-but-fresh, high-energy and a quintessential example of The Aaron English Band's hallmark.”

“We'd always enjoyed playing this medley, and we got some great live recordings of it but we’d never recorded a studio version. By the time we’d gotten together to record we hadn't played together since July 2008. We regrouped at Death Cab for Cutie's Two Sticks studio in Seattle in October 2010 for a session and spent four hours dialling in sounds & catching up before putting the medley to tape.”

“We invited friends and family to bring video cameras of many shapes and sizes to document the event and our guitarist Patrick Strole spent several months editing the footage together. I feel it captures the energy and excitement of the studio recording while highlighting the band’s skills and giving our fans an insight into our world.”

The medley is was released via iTunes on Tuesday Feb 15th. The link to it can be found at
