Unchained Breathing Submits Their "Anthem" For A New Generation

Unchained Breathing is a melodic Dutch deathcore band that leaves a lot of room for atmospheric parts in their compositions. They have joined forces with Pavels Trebuhins, Tomster Project, Café Bluff and Muziekhuis Guus Aarons in order to make a rock solid videoclip that you will enjoy.

The video tells the story about a boy trying to find his way home.

He walks for days and days on end, nearly killing himself in the process. As his heartbeat drops, he sees a picture of an old machine which was used for the excavation of mines in their hometown of Limburg, Netherlands. After that, he regains his strength and continues his journey.

"Anthem" is a song in which every aspect of Unchained Breathing's ability as a eager, versatile and industrious band are all put together. It contains melody, heavy riffage, and face-crushing breakdowns. Lyrically it's about the place where they have their friends, their loved ones and their safe haven: Home.

Oceano Announces Farewell Show At NEMHF

Chicago deathcore mavens Oceano have chosen 14th Annual New England Metal and Hardcore Festival as the stage for their farewell performance on Friday, April 20.

 In just half a decade, Oceano has transformed the genre with a youthful, modern sound as dark as the ocean depths. Their signature Drop-A tuning adds an ultra-low-end sonic assault and their anger-filled songs and live shows. Oceano lays claim to being "the heaviest, most pissed-off band on the planet."


"We have played some of the best shows of our career at the Palladium," the band said. "Massachusetts has always shown us so much love that we owe them one of our last shows. Let's make one more memory at the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival!"

Added promoter Scott Lee: "I'm very sorry to see the band go. They definitely made a mark on the aggressive music scene and we are very excited to have their final show at the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival."

The 14th Annual New England Metal and Hardcore Festival is a three-day event, beginning Friday, April 20.  The Black Dahlia Murder will headline Friday night, with All That Remains on Saturday, and Killswitch Engage will close out the weekend on Sunday night.

The complete lineup for Friday includes The Black Dahlia Murder, The Acacia Strain, Oceano, All Shall Perish, Nile, Skeletonwitch, Lionheart, Fleshgod Apocalypse, First Blood, Molotov Solution, The Contortionist, Reign Supreme, Conducting From The Grave, Fit For An Autopsy, Incendiary, Palehorse, Hour Of Penance, Legion, and Relentless.

In addition to All That Remains, Saturday's bands include Overkill, iwrestledabearonce, Protest the Hero, Periphery, Bane, Shipwreck, Cruel Hand, Aborted, The Mongoloids, Belphegor, System Divide, Naysayer, The Greenery, Diamond Plate, Rotting Out, Expire, Elitist, Trump The Harlot, Manners, and Malefice.

The Contagion Effect Finish Recording Debut EP

Baltimore, Maryland's fast rising extremists, The Contagion Effect, have completed the recording process for their as yet untitled debut ep at Oceanic Recording with Taylor Larson at the helm. An official release date for the EP, which will be self released by the band, is pending.

The band has posted a second track entitled 'Exsanguination' on their Official Facebook page as well as on Youtube (see links below). The band will also have their track, 'A Global Abortion', featured in an upcoming video game, with details to be announced soon. Now with the debut EP finished, the release of 'Exsanguination' and having a track set for massive exposure on a forthcoming video game, the campaign to bring The Contagion Effect's music to the masses is in full effect!

Formed from the ashes of crushing deathcore heavyweights Whisteria Cottage, who went on a long term hiatus shortly after the release of their debut album 'Heathen', comes The Contagion Effect. Picking up where Whisteria Cottage left off, The Contagion Effect adds more depth and dynamics to their already savage sonic landscape. The band consists of 4 of the 5 original members with Chris Booth and Mike Anderson returning to their respective roles on Guitar and Drums. Cory Myers makes the transition from Bass to Guitar due to former Whisteria guitarist John McMillion moving on to other things, and taking on bass duties is newcomer Robert Polanco. And of course, The Contagion Effect brings about the highly anticipated return of original Whisteria Cottage vocalist Mike Comegys!

Bringing their fans over from the Whisteria Cottage page continues to be an ongoing process as long time fans discover that the band has returned under a new moniker, but the band is satisfied with the rapid and consistent growth of their fanbase. Since the band's inception in late March 2011, The Contagion Effect has managed to amass over 2,600 likes on their Official Facebook page. The band also recently had their live debut at the Recher Theater in Towson, Maryland, with another show coming up at the end of this month alongside fellow Baltimore heavyweights In Dying Arms.
