Post Your Shows From Portland To Seattle HERE!
Saturday, September 17, 2011 at 2:53PM

So here is the deal. Email story about your show EXACTLY the way you want it posted to post.rockmymonkey.Olympia@squarespace.com. Why am I doing this? I sometimes get in the mood to go see a local show. Sure bands, clubs, and booking agents will flood their Facebook stream with band spam, but no one pays attention. Why? They are not looking for show info at that time and you are just pissing them off. I would go to way more shows if there was just one place I can go to see what is up and where. So just like with most things on this site, this is launched for selfish reasons. Sure others will come here to find this info, but that is because this is a much needed resource.
How do you get a post up here? Post it! This is your section! I only have a few rules.
1. Only shows from Portland OR to Seattle WA.
This pretty much means the Northwest with a focus on the Pudget Sound area. If you do not know what that means or where that is, your show probably does not belong here.
2. Use it or lose it!
I refuse to keep a dead section of the site live. I also don't want one over zelous booking agent taking it over. There needs to be several people using this or I have to take it down.
3. Guitar rock only!
This means Metal, Punk, Classic Rock, Cover bands, Orginals, Etc. This means no rap, no country, no dance dj crap, etc. Guitars must be very much involved. Do I have to say it must be music related? It must be a physical event. Meaning a live concert. No "come vote for us on this poll" crap. Nothing but live music.
4. One post per show!
This means you can't come on here and post every show you have coming up every single day. Pick what day you think would make the most impact and post it then.
5. Spread this shit around already!
Once you post the info here, Facebook it, Google Plus it, Twitter it, MySpace it, email it, etc. The reason? When you do that it helps us pay the bills. It also makes your Facebook post more powerful. When you post it that way fans and friends will have a "share" link they can click. People are lazy and if you make it easy for them to help you spread the word they will.
6. No drama!
If I see you posting things that are negative here you will be blocked. No questions. No excuses. Seriously, I have will maintain a ruthless zero tolerance for any drama. Do not start it here.
7. You Must Be Registered!
Yes you need to be registered to post a show. Then let me know you want to submit some shows and I will set your permissions so you can do so. I am going to try just giving everyone permissions who asks until that becomes a problem. Cool?
8. When in doubt, give me more feedback!
Seriously, the more feedback I get the greater chance this has to work. Keep in mind that there are somethings I can't do due to working within this content management system. If I can do it though, I will. As long as it serves the greater good of course. I WILL NOT do something just because it helps you and only you. It is all about what serves the majority.
9. Each show MUST have it's own submission!
This means do not post your show info in the comment section of another post. Each show should be it's own post.

Ara'Kus
Presents:
Aeterno Elementum: A Heavy Metal Opera
In Seattle!
Friday November 4th and Saturday November 5th
At the Broadway Performance Hall
1625 Broadway
Seattle, WA 98122
Aeterno Elementum combines dark, atmospheric, story-driven performance theater with Ara'Kus' signature style of symphonic, operatic heavy metal to create an experience that is greater than the sum of it's parts.
Aeterno Elementum tells the story of a world not entirely unlike our own which has descended into darkness, and of it's inevitable and violent purification. Featuring fire dancing, aerial performance, acrobatic martial artists, fully armed and armored knights in large scale combat, and a cast of highly talented actors and musicians of all types, this is a spectacle that must be witnessed in order to be fully understood.
On each night, doors open at 7:00pm, show begins at 8:00pm. Tickets will be $25 online and at the door, but seats are limited, so we recommend purchasing early.
