So here are the last cuts from the very first studio demo I ever did. Was Necrobeast some great and amazing band? No. We were just friends that wanted to have some fun recording the stupidest shit we could come up with. It was all about going to the lowest of the low brow humor and having fun with it. So why did I go through the work to unleash this garbage on your ears? Because it helps make a few points. Why create music? Because it’s fun! Do you have to be the best thing out there? No. When you start out I think you should suck a little. The great thing about Necrobeast was that under the guise of comedy we were able to really experiment with tons of different styles of music without trying to live up to the bands that were respected in that style.

I think today the new bands seem more focused on either being rock stars or being the most “brootal” band in the world. What gets lost is the experimental phase of the young musician. The period where you suck! Because of that, kids go for whatever is easy. Growl vocals that are totally flat and monotone, drums that are so focused on doing the fastest blasts, that they have no depth, guitar riffs that are working so hard at playing the most technical riffs they can play as fast as their fingers will move. What we hear is something just short of white noise. Now don’t think this is about bashing on death metal, because that is not my point. My point is that the younger bands do not seem to be even giving a chance to do more then one style. Their influences go back maybe five years at best. Do they know (and understand) who influenced Black Sabbath? It was The Beatles. It became heavy because Tony chopped off the ends of his fingers and was forced to experiment with alternative tunings so he could still play.

So I ask this series of questions. First off, who is your favorite band in the world? Who influenced them? Who influenced the band that influenced the band that influenced your favorite band? Do you know the history of the music you love? Six Feet Under are a great band, but do you think that they all listen to nothing other then death metal all day? I can promise you that they don’t. So here are all the songs from the very first demo I ever recorded. It was very experimental, very juvenile, very stupid, and we sucked! It was however fun and I still chuckle a bit when I hear them again. I have been told by the studio that we recorded these at that I might be able to get the direct digital master ripped to my lap top. When that happens I will let you all know so you can download the better versions.

“Pyronecrobeastiailty”, “Pull My Pants Down”, “Death By Blowjob”, “Death Metal Rulez”, “That's Why I Love Her”. Amon has also scanned in some of the old graphics. “Outside Booklet”, “Inside Booklet”, “Front Cover”, “Out cute little mascot”. Have fun kiddies! Lastly, on the diet front, I lost another pound and am currently at 233. I would rant about something, but I need some sleep.

PS-So let's keep voting for whatever band is directly below Necrobeast on the link page. Click here because my old band is as dead as our groupies were!
