 November 10th 2006 11/10/06 Ok, so some of you missed my little rants? Damn you people have sad and pathetic lives. Of course that could be the reason you can relate to me. Who's the more foolish: The fool, or the fool who follows him? So enough of me contradicting myself. Let’s get this rant over with before I get more tired and delirious. So here we are at the end of a year. Look through our CD review page and you will see that there was a shitload of metal, punk, goth, and just plain rock releases this year. There was a shitload of good and a shitload of…well, shit. Now every year before we have had the staff make up their lists of what they think are the best. Well, this year I thought it would be better to open it up to everyone. Everyone can vote and everyone can nominate. I want every topic, every event, every release, and every tour to be ranked and filed by you people. What was the best tour? What was the best touring festival? What was the most tragic ‘rock’ related death? What was the most disappointing release? What was the most shocking release? What newer band showed the most respect for the true old school? Who had the coolest video? Who was the most overlooked? Who was the most over hyped? I could go on and on, but you get the idea. This is not just about the best CD you bought. Many seem lost over the rules I have posted for these polls. You people are way over thinking this. These rules are just for the best of 06 polls. This does not effect anything outside of that one specific sub-forum. Ignore these rules when not in the best of 06 sub-forum. They do not apply. These rules are only for the best of 06 forum. Not sure how much more simple I can make that. The two most important rules are that all of the “best of 06” polls MUST have ten options. I know that sounds silly, but I have very good reasons for this. Right now you all get to nominate whatever you want. This thing is wide fucking open to all. Closer to the end of the year (probably the last two weeks of December), I will lock anyone from creating any new polls in that sub-forum. So (for example) if we have 10 polls about the “best release of 06”, I take the number one from each of those and make one poll. Then at the end of the year we have a list of the top ten releases according to all of you. If we have 5 polls on (again just an example) the worst release of 06, I take the top two from each of those and make one poll for the ‘final word’. The second rule is that all poll options MUST be from 06. If you don’t understand the reason, just think about it for awhile. Stare at the name of the sub-forum if you need to. There are other rules, but those are the two most important. I don’t have time to debate any of the rules, so don’t even think about it. So this rant is all about getting you people to spew your opinions. Sure there are rules, but for the most part this is to make sure one person doesn’t take control over the thing. With ten options, there is a good chance you have an opinion on at least one of them. Now I really need to keep focused on my PHP studies. That is why I have no reviews for my ‘Old Fart Friday’. This is also why there is less interviews lately. Sadly this will continue for a very long time, but in the long run it will be better for the site. I have long term plans and I ask that you all trust me when I say we will kick more ass this way. After this week I will start doing video rants instead of these long boring things. These will still be archived in the same place. You just have to look at my ugly mug. This way I don’t have to worry about word count, spelling, grammar, punctuation, or several other things. So click here and start a poll! Lastly, on the diet front, I gained back three pounds during my birthday week. Damn cake, ice cream, & pizza. So this three day weekend will be spent on the stationary bike. 233 will be 228 by this time next week. This I promise you. I am pissed at my own failure!
