Alright, after the interview with Mille, me and my accompanist returned downstairs and waited for the show… There were two small openers, Napalm Death, and Kreator. Sure to be a great show.

Band 1:

The first band was some shitty female fronted hardcore band. My accomplice's friend was shouting at them telling them they suck whilst I took pictures. This band only had one fan. He was dressed in a black dress shirt and faded black jeans. The crowd of men kept telling the singer to "Shake that Ass", which led me to the conclusion that men are pigs. Oh well. Either way, this band wasn't very good.

A Perfect Murder:

This is another small opener. I would define them as Thrashcore. They were a lot better than the first band. They had some decent riffs and the frontman was a powerhouse of energy. I gotta say, I was thoroughly impressed by this band. They're one of the better thrashcore bands that I've heard. The vocals could use a little work, but the music was top notch. Throughout the entire show, there was good energy. Props to A Perfect Murder for being a good opener.

Napalm Death:

These guys were considered an opener, I guess, but they are more of a co-headliner in my opinion. The grind pioneers put on a great show, filled with humor (some intentional, some not) and grace. Barney did great with the vocals, but I must say, he looks a little too friendly in my opinion. I think he should grow a kick-ass beard. That would rule. All the notes were spot on, but the sound was a bit blurred. The crowd loved Napalm Death. Fans were shouting song requests left and right, and Barney was actually talking to some of the people in the front row. They played a solid hour and a half set containing a lot of their best songs. They played "You Suffer" without warning though so a lot of people missed it. It was really funny. There wasn't as much motion in the front as I thought there would be, but I guess that's what happens when a majority of the audience is older people. The younger people in their 20's showed up near the end and there was a little more motion. Barney's fly was open for most of the show and I screamed "Your fly is open!" and he responded with "Why are you looking at my wiener?" Hooray!

Main Attraction; Kreator:

Man… When I saw that backdrop banner come up, I knew I was gonna have some fun. Staring at the cover from the Enemy of God digipack, the entire room got a darker feel to it. Everything just seemed to descend into evil. In fact, just as that went up, my camera died. I tried replacing the batteries, but the new batteries didn't work either. Oh well, it let me enjoy the show more.

Kreator opened with Enemy of God, and it was glorious, there was a ton of instant energy and the crowd was going wild. The energy was seriously something else. I spent the entire show protecting my guest (who weighs around 80 or 90 pounds) from the rage filled crowd behind us. That kind of became redundant after some 230 pound guy got on stage and dove on top of us. Oh well.

I remember some of the songs from Kreator's set list… Suicide Terrorist, my favorite Kreator song, was in the set list along with Flag of Hate, Violent Revolution, and other classics. They played a lot of material off of Enemy of God, which was rather pleasing.

Mille played excellently. I only noticed a couple minor errors. He double sixteenthed a couple of eighth notes, but that's quite alright. He sang great, even though his mic was a little low. With a better sound setting, it would have sounded a lot better. Everything was played skillfully by all of the members. And the atmosphere was fucking awesome.

The red lights put on Mille between songs just made everything better. It sounds a little cheesy, but it's actually really cool to see. He talked to the crowd a lot, but not too much. He said just enough to get more energy and not waste valuable set time. Needless to say, the crowd got pretty fuckin' wild.

All in all, I'd say this was pretty much the best show I've seen in a while. There was energy, skill, length, and memorability. I can't wait to see these guys again. The show started at 6:00 and we left at about 11:30. It was not six wasted hours, that's for sure. If these guys are playing in your area, make sure you fucking see them. They're amazing.
