So me and the wife were on our way to cover a new band (new to us anyways) called The Classic Crime. Despite my issues with religion (I tell people I am a recovering Christian), I was going to check out this acoustic show by a Christian rock band. We get a block away from the venue and a 1995 Black Ford Explorer comes full speed ahead into the side of the car. Have you ever been totally sure you were half a second from death? I can now say I have been. The guy must have had some damn good breaks and the Kia Rio we were in must have been built for some serious side impact, because I am not only still alive, but only the car’s door is fucked up.

The guy was honest enough not to drive away after he slammed into us, so we got his license plate number and exchanged insurance. It was very clearly his fault and he even said so at the scene. We had some very nice people give us their number as witnesses too. So all things considered we came out pretty well. Now the big question is how much his insurance fights us and how much our insurance covers our asses. We have Progressive, so I will be doing a full report on my blog about those details. So this could turn into a commercial for the insurance companies or an article about what douchebags they are.

So once we exchange insurance information, me and Sherri try to find a place to park and gather our thoughts, shake the glass from my clothes, and call Progressive and find out what to do next. I also call the contact number I was given for the show to let him know we would not be able to make it. His first knee jerk response was to make sure everyone was ok. This is someone I have never met and had no reason to care, so that is pretty cool to me. I found out when I got home that it was the singer and not just a manager. So now I owe the band a phoner at least, so I am pretty sure that you will hear more about this band on this site. Anyways, below are the photos are of the car instead of the band.
